My plans were to spend the weekend in New Orleans after the game. Depending on what happens with the storm and evac...what are some options of things to do for the weekend within a 4 or so hour drive of BR?

well it depends on where it hits. we dont know if its going to bama or texas right now so your best bet would be to go north. nothing that touristy up there though. monroe? shreveport? arkansas?

Head north. 4 hours to Shreveport, contrary to what people say here, lots to do up here

Well, you should change your "sphere of interest" to distance in miles, not hours - as your travel times may increase quite a bit depending on traffic.
I'm gonna suggest Dollywood.

and bring a tent... you won't be getting a hotel room.

you could head east to the Florida pan handle...try Destin...but the storm might be large enough that the weather will still be cloudy/windy there...

Yes the beaches of Destin. that's our playground.

Bullsht, you're coming down for the Southern Decandence festival and you know it. You are going to see more wangs in banana hammocks than you've ever dreamed of. I'm sure they'll be someone down there willing to protect you from the storm.

Seriously, there isn't that much to do around BR. LSU is the only redeeming quality of the town...place with be boring as frick without it.

If you are a casino person, there are many in LA and MS, even up north.
I'd imagine rooms would be very limited, but for some, rooms aren't exactly necessary.

Experiencing a hurricane should be entertainment enough. Might I suggest buying a kite.

go down to gulf shores(AL) Destin,FL. or if youre the gambling type, hit up the casinos in biloxi...saltwater fishing is great also this time of year if you like to do that, just stay way east of the ol cane

I read that Starkville is lovely this time of year.

I'd recommend heading for Atlanta, you're half way home and plenty to do and way outta harms way.
