Not many would fall further than Woody Hayes. Punching the Clemson kid on the sideline was the final straw

This caused me to like him immensely. People from Clemson are hideous and should be punched at every opportunity. I remember one in here awhile back complaining about S Carolina fans throwing batteries at them, I commented I didn't see the problem unless they missed

Petrino was not beloved, but he was a respected coach

Bum Phillips is still loved in Houston, but he made an idiot of himself in New Orleans bringing in his old has-beens like Earl Campbell, Ken Stabler and Leon Gray.

He made Les Miles look like June Jones.

I'm not sure exactly where he falls but Urban is notable for the high levels of success and extreme disconnect between his would be professional image and what we know he'll allow the Hernandez type players to do to the surrounding community.

It isn't as unsavory as covering up a pederast but he literally appears to have turned it blind eye to a murderer running amuck on his team.

The only football fans in the entire world that ever both respected and loved Les Miles are LSU football fans.

Tom Landry was a goddamn American hero. His service to this country earned him respect before he ever stepped on a football field.

A large number of LSU fans laughed at Les from the beginning (me included). How could you not?

He never had support from a good portion of the fan base.

Can’t believe people are already forgetting this.

Bo Schembechler should be. It shows you how out of touch and arrogant Michigan fans are that they think he was a great coach.

Bum Phillips was loved in New Orleans.

He built the teams that Mora inherited.

Justin Fuente

I played for this man. He was more of a no nonsense type of guy but I could tell he didn't really like recruiting. I think he can run a tight ship from an organizational CEO standpoint but I know the recruiting isn't there and I am not quite sure if his in game Xs and Os are good. Our offense at TCU was basically idiot proof. He took our offense to the next level when he took over but our defense was so good you didn't have to ask much from our offense. It was so basic. The OC my first 2 years our playbook was hundreds of pages long in these huge 3 ring binders. I still have mine. Fuente takes over and the playbook is 3 pages xeroxed and stapled together in the corner.

He traded Archie Manning for trash. He gave up first round picks for Richard Todd and washed-up Earl Campbell. He would have made the playoffs multiple times if he didn't have a washed-up, drunk Ken Stabler at QB. Knowledgeable Saint fans don't "love" Bum Phillips. He was more concerned with an Oiler Reunion than building a champion.

Bum inherited Stan Brock and David Waymer.
Mora's 86 roster was like 50 percent new players. The 86 draft (Hilliard, Mayes, Swilling, Dumbo), a real GM, a new owner, and the end of the USFL (Hebert, Johnson, Mills, Gray, Jordan, Gibson, Commiskey) were just as responsible for the rise of the Saints as Bum was. And if you want to argue that some of the USFL players came to the Saints in Bum's last year, that team was an over-the-hill hot mess in Bum's last year and the writing was on the wall.
