Anyone use a ebike to hunt with?

I'm looking at getting one but I'm trying to decide if it's worth it. I hunt public land mostly.

The idea of riding in closer to my stand without working up a sweat is very appealing to me. Also, I'm not getting any younger.

Why isn't somebody building an electric 4 wheeler?

They are. The one they have now only travels about 30 mph.

How fast you want to go baw?

To OP, I’m interested as well but a lot of places I hunt wouldn’t be practical. I’d like to get a fat tire bike since it has a lower price point. Wouldn’t hurt to have in the arsenal.

That's fine for slipping down to your stand.

I think they’re an awesome idea

They sell a camo bike with huge wheels at Bass Pro. There were grown arse men sitting on them taking pictures.

I could see using one to get deeper into the woods in tight spaces or just to have around the camp for fun

They are very quiet. You can get a trailer and actually haul your deer out or supplies in.

I could see it being very useful on a elk hunt or checking cameras.

The ones at Bass Pro are the quiet kats. Nice bike, but I'm looking at the Bakcou Storm.

My son and I bought 2 of the Rambo bikes last summer , we used them for deer season they work very well . You can get really close to your stand and just lay the bike down highly recommend getting one.

Make sure you read the regulations first. Since they have become popular, they updated to say ebikes have to stay in trails (top right of page 45). I was in same boat and looking hard at them then I read that. So I just bought a regular fat tire bike.

Those Bakcou bikes are fine! I’ve added Bolton Ebikes to my watch list to go along with Radrover. I’m seriously considering the Sabre at Bolton. Bolton puts out a ton of content on their YouTube page.

In Louisiana, they are treated just like an atv, so you can't go off trail. I use a regular fat tire bike.

I bought a off brand two years ago. Game changer for me around my lease turkey hunting. I have two more that I am about to post on c-list in ttown in a day or so. I had two buddies that backed out and I just decided to keep them. I posted them a while back, but took them off because I was gonna keep one at separate leases. They have just sat in the barn for 6-8 months. Decided to part ways with them.

Louisiana laws regarding ebikes are somewhat vague. It is my understanding that pedal-assist ebikes with motors of 750 watts or less are currently regarded the same as bicycles--can be registered as bicycles, use bike paths, etc. I have an off-brand ebike with 750 watt bafang motor that is great for tooling around off road. Plenty fast enough!

From what I've read, you can take a pedal ebike on the handicap and other trails that are off limits to 4 wheelers and utv's.

Just can't take them exploring through the woods. Im going to consult with the green jeans where I hunt to make sure where I can and can't go.

I'd be leery buying them, if they become more popular I don't see how eventually they wouldn't be treated basically as a motorcycle. As said you can get a trailer and basically go to your stand, pack the deer, and then bike out. That's not biking IMO.
