Little back story on him. For the longest he had a fake satire account mocking the daily mtn eagle out of Walker County. It was hilarious and spot on (pretty sure he still lives around there). It made the newspaper fighting mad and they were trying to pursue legal action. They tried for a long time to figure out who it was and they couldn't. He finally got found out about and he was hired by AL.com for a while.....(sorry if there is any typos, I am on my phone with no glasses)
re: What hunting podcasts you listen to?
Posted by NWTFbama on 12/23/21 at 7:41 am
Kifarucast
Southern Outdoorsman
Hunt Talk
The element
The turkey hunter
Fist full of dirt
I use to listen to a good bit of meateater stuff, but when the chernin group stuff came about and the amount of "wokeness" with some employees there. I sorta gave it up.

re: Electric bikes for hunting

I bought a off brand two years ago. Game changer for me around my lease turkey hunting. I have two more that I am about to post on c-list in ttown in a day or so. I had two buddies that backed out and I just decided to keep them. I posted them a while back, but took them off because I was gonna keep one at separate leases. They have just sat in the barn for 6-8 months. Decided to part ways with them.

They are unbranded. I would sell two for 2400.00 or split them for 1300.00 each. Every buddy that has rode mine has been impressed. You can either just use the throttle, pedal, or pedal assist. Email me if ya interested nwtfbama@gmail.com

Like y'all I studied these things for years , but I couldn't see paying that much for one. Then I realized that all the big name ebike dealers do is order them from china and re-brand them. So I bought 4 from China and have been very pleased. They are 48v 750 watt. I deer hunted and turkey hunted off of it last yr and I should have bought one a long time ago. I am gonna sell two of them. Brand new , haven't been rode. They are hub drive. I bought these because you can rebuild one bike twice and still have less than what you have in a brand name.

Interested why you will stop buying First Lite?
Just personal choice. I was a Rinella fan from long ago. But slowly as his notoriety began to rise and he became more popular and made more money , meateater bought FL. I just feel like they are pushing products (I understand everyone has to make a living). And also the Chernin group are involved with meateater.
"Chernin Group owns a minority equity stake in MeatEater Inc. but in terms of governance has the controlling interest. Other stakeholders include Rinella, MeatEater Inc. CEO Kevin Sloan and Zero Point Zero Production, which produces “MeatEater” for Netflix"
The Chernin group is no sportsmans friend. I suggest people look up Peter Chernin and form a opinion. I would also suggest looking at Backcountry hunters and anglers leaders voting records. If you listen to podcasts I would listen to Kifarucast episodes where he interviews backcountry hunters and anglers and another episode labelled "non profits".
I am sure First Lite is still making good products (Those zip off long john's look great) and I will continue to use what I own of theirs, but that is the main reason why I will be looking elsewhere when I need to buy more clothing.

First lite, Skre , kryptek , canis , Gulch Gear...
I have badlands and First lite , but I will probably stop buying FL. Although, those are all good choices.

One of my old neighbors had 2wd stealth. He loved it. He hunts in west Alabama (flat land). He said he hasn't got his stuck yet, but I also think his club roads are in decent shape. He said he was impressed with the torque on his.

re: Anyone restored a car from basically nothing?
Posted by NWTFbama on 6/15/20 at 7:39 am
My dad and I have done quiet a few. I wouldn't buy that car. Those mustangs are everywhere and you can get one "rolling" most of the time for that price. And you can dump as much money in it as you want, but I would be hard pressed to spend 2500.00 on that coupe. It also depends if you are going to do the work yourself or if you are just gonna have it done by someone. BTW he has a 55 Chevy two door post that is running and the interior done he would sell right now. Just needs paint.
