Eh..im just stoned. Could also just be old fashioned Russian evil.

I remember the 80s. World saw how easily ecerything could be manipulated from American panic. So they have "volunteers" who they've already infected and sent to the US.

The reported cases were workers exposed to bird flocks, according to preliminary information, the statement added.

The workers were "asymptomatic and no onward human to human transmission was reported," the spokesperson said.

Now it's Russia's turn to cause our economy to crumble with fear.

I thought COVID cured the flu? Seriously, NO ONE catches the flu anymore. EVERYTHING is COVID.

Details? I’m ignorant on this flu.

Avian flus have caused some of the worst pandemics in the history of humans. H1N1 may have killed 100 million people in 1918-1919 when it was a novel strain in the human population. That equates to about 600 million in our population today.

They don’t normally spread directly from birds to humans. They usually infect another animal such as a pig which has also been infected with a human flu virus. The two then intermingle and can produce a very lethal strain for humans.

If that happens, COVID-19 will seem mild by comparison. A novel avian flu virus kills young people far more than older adults who have experienced other flu strains and vaccines and have better immune responses to it.

A vaccine could be hurriedly produced to fight it but in the meantime hundreds of millions of people might die in a population of nearly 8 billion.

there has been a new pandemic threat every year for the last decade

I fear now due to COVID we are going to be expected to derail life every time a new report like this comes out

You left out the part about the virus not being transmitted from human to human

Correct. There are 2 unrelated hurdles a virus must jump.

First there is the leap from animal to human.

Human to human transmission is a separate gain of function.

Oddly enough, Covid 19 made these jumps right near a lab that was doing gain of function research on coronaviruses.

What a strange coincidence.

Lol give me a break. We all know birds aren't real. They're government drones that are tracking our movements.

imagine life if Russia and China made a pact, they crated this strain, planted it in the US and then shut off all travel to and from.

Knowing Americans are frustrated and fatigued from covid rules and life. The whole continent gets taken out. You're a straggler, but you find a way to make a life. You farm, fish, hunt and make peace with the situation. Possibly even meet someone along the way..

And just a little after that time, you wake up to the ground trembling from tanks. You plead, but they go to kill her in front of you. Youre on your knees, they're going to make you watch it. You look into her eyes, saying "I love you", "I'm sorry" & "..Goodbye"..

As she slowly smiles and says, "s toboy bylo legko"...

now that will be a real pandemic unlike the Rona. Avian flu could wipe out more than half the earth's population. no mask wearing or quarantining will prevent it from spreading human to human.

I’m not downplaying what this could possibly become, but statements like that quoted are why 2020 went the way it did.

There have been H5 flu cases in humans before but no human to human transfer.

It is going be like the 2016 flood in BR. Every hard rain, people got afraid it was going to flood again.
