Funny you should mention that character. I happen to have "The Andy Griffith Show" on in the background and Raif Hollister is in this episode where the county nurse is tasked with trying to give him a tetanus shot.
One of the characters went by different names during the run of the show. Clara Edwards, friend of Aunt Bee also was called Bertha Edwards, Bertha Johnson and Clara Johnson and was played by Hope Summers.
Floyd the barber was originally portrayed by Walter Baldwin and replaced by Howard McNear for the remainder of the show.

Beatrice is fricking horrible, maybe the worst mother in television history, but she steals the entire episode for each appearance she makes.

I watched a Walter Baldwin episode over the weekend. It was that Twilight Zone episode where the stranger comes to town and knows everything about everyone. Besides the original Floyd making it strange, the episode had the stranger going after the town hottie, which I never knew Mayberry had. I wish "Lucy Matthews" had stayed around a while.

First ones I thought of. Would the janitor from scrubs count?

d the stranger going after the town hottie,
They had another young good looking woman on the show for one episode called "A Feud Is A Feud" where a young couple is wanting to get married, but the fathers are opposed because their families are feuding.
The young woman who played the part to be the wife was very beautiful but in real life was a total train wreck. She was murdered at age 22 in 1963 and the case was never solved.

I was watching a bunch of Always Sunny bloopers and Cricket’s actor was the only one that never cracked up no matter how ridiculous the things he was saying was. He manages to stay in character no matter what
