He didn't really find his place in our offense but the guy plays hard. One of my favorite tigers of recent. Hope the guy finds his place.

If he would’ve been around 20 years ago... would’ve been an all pro fullback... that position has just phased out, unfortunately for him

Almost every team have a full back. He’ll find a place.

There are probably 10x as many NFL teams with Fullbacks as there are College teams (not counting triple option teams)

The position hasn’t gone away in the NFL.

Listen to Kyle Shannahan talk about them on PMT. they can give you an instant numbers advantage in the run game without the Defense knowing which side it’s going to be on which is huge.

The caveat is they have to be able to run and catch or you become too predictable. Carter is actually pretty good at that.

If not fullback, definitely special teams I would think.

He should have played TE or LB. maybe thin out a little and play some RB.

Kyle Uzchyeck (I know I f'ed that up) with San Fran is what the NFL looks for. Blocks, short carries up the middle or off tackle, mostly short routes, but once or twice a game goes for a 30 yard or so pass off of some misdirection.

I think he'll find a place! You know he's willing to go smash heads on ST. He blocks, runs, and has receiving skills. Every team needs a few of these guys

Yes he does, these people saying no obviously don’t pay attention to NFL football. 24 out of 32 teams in the NFL still use a modern fullback. The other 8 still have a variation of the position still in use for certain situations in their playbook.

Nope, teams don't run lots of 2 back sets. FB have been replaced by an extra TE who is like an H-Back. In the 1970's even up to early 90's, Moose Johnston, Emmitt Smith, era for Cowboys, yes.

Not in todays game.

Lol there’s like 5 total FBs in the NFL and they’re usually guys who have great hands and can run routes. I love Tory carter but that’s not him at all. I’d be shocked if he ever makes anything more than a practice squad.

As long as he can catch having a fullback gives you two short outlet receivers on either side of the field. Great for goal-line situations and no matter how good your offensive lineman are, clearing the lane with a fullback who has four or five yards to build up steam before contact is like clearing the bike lane with a dump truck. Momentum is a mass multiplier

There are about 14 teams that use a FB still. If he can prove himself to be valuable on special teams for one of those franchises and display proficiency catching the ball, then he's got a chance.

He has a very limited chance. Due to very little true fullbacks in the game. It could help he got some te work. Don’t know if he has the speed to be a special team only player. Usually a backup lber or wr. I know the Green Bay special teams captain. He is a lber who has had to fill in the mlb spot when starter hurt. So you want a guy who can fill in a position of need if someone gets hurt. Fullback isn’t worth having a backup. You can get by with an injured fb with tes or extra linemen.
If he he can have some really good workouts catching the ball and running times maybe he can steal one of the fb spots.
