yeah I've noticed that. I hate the rings shite. I think it's stupid, but im not a tournament director so I have to deal with what they give for 1st and 2nd. I care more about getting them recruited and getting a scholarship more than anything. baseball recruiting is already tough because of so many kids, so I show mine off as much as possible so they can be seen when we go to regional areas.

the younger age groups always play down because the dads live vicariously through the kids. its pretty pathetic and why I refuse to coach those age divisions.

guessing he played both then. the games I saw, he was in the outfield.

but I could play any position on the field and would do fine until they hit me a ball

uh, what? so you "did fine" just standing there, but sucked when the ball was hit to you.

so, you couldn't play any position. you sucked because you couldn't make a play.
hellmers was recruited as a pitcher. he wasn't recruited as a third baseman. I dont know what you dont get about that.

it was probably Nolan who didnt even mention he could play infield. when you recruit pitchers, you recruit pitchers. doesn't really matter what else he played in high school. hell, 90% of the pitchers on the roster probably played in the field somewhere. you dont see pitchers only in high school very often.

Jared Poche played outfield for lutcher and hit like .400 his senior year. do you think anyone on the staff cared he played outfield?
quote:

You give a perfectly good opportunity for him to see his future players yet he does not often. 99% of head coaches are heavily involved in recruiting and they see/scout players when they can. Why doesn't PM?

alright hot shot. go to a regional perfect game tournament and ask who's there. you might get a hand full of head coaches who's school is in the area, but majority will be the assistants.
I think Paul is an idiot but I can defend him here.

Nolan recruits a pitcher out of Miami who throws mid 90's. He brings his eval to Paul from a game in which the kid pitched a complete game. Paul says ok, invite him over for a visit I will offer and pitch to get him committed.

Kid signs. Oh by the way coach even though I was a top 5 pitcher in my state, I also played third base even though you recruited me as a pitcher. Kid knows his future is in pitching. Probably 'had' to play 3B because high school kids play multiple positions to even out the roster.

we are majors. what else do you want me to do?

they were AAA and were 9-1 in their division. they played up and got handled accordingly. we're just that good. that's not my problem.
lol what? barring injury, he's a fringe top 10 QB.

haha or a team thinks they can hang with the big boys for one weekend and are easily shown the door
common. assistants do most of the recruiting/scouting then present that info to the head coach.

Paul can't go watch a high school game on a Tuesday night in Alabama for a pitcher he's recruiting because he has his own games and practices. thats why most commitments happen during the summer because a lot of kids play in regional tournaments so it's easier to scout and recruit players. cain is also gone during midweek games to go recruit
I love the good ole “travel ball is too expensive” excuse

Another successful weekend. Took 1st in a 12 teamer.

Demoralizing teams that don't belong in travel ball is hilarious. Kids crying, dads yelling because we run the score up, etc. First pool play game was 23-0 in 3 innings.
State is nowhere near “physical”
Kentucky upsets Alabama. Calling it now

Neighbors college daughter has expressed how much the team parties and she’s always getting invited to go.

It’s early

Oh save me that bullshite it’s early talk.

You don’t lose a series at home to oral roberts. It’s inexcusable.

Also, the team should stop partying so much. Fontenot has parties at his townhouse multiple times a week.

Someone explain this please.

How can LSU have a contract or whatever with Nike but not have all Nike gear?

Nike jerseys but evoshield accessories
This team is the definition of insanity.

DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS

Between baseball and softball today... damn man
