Expecting anybody to have the extra capacity just laying around to handle an event of this size is a dumb shite.

Then people would whine about their electric bills because financing it isn’t free

Question: I read that it was “Texas own fault” as they opted to not put the heating elements on the turbines.

What’s true and what’s not?? I have no clue.

Bottom line, private companies do not like to carry spare capacity just in case you need it as that is expensive and financial decisions based on this led to a shortfall.

they won't build it if they won't get paid

how many people do you know that work for free?

Failure to prepare for inclement weather doesn’t mean wind power isn’t reliable, it means tejas has incompetent people in power.

This idiot doesn't understand that wind turbines are designed for the prevailing climate of the region they operate in. There are significant design differences used to optimize them. Turbines in northern states would fail if exposed to 100+F summers year after year.

Yes, it has suffered a devastating cockroach and locust like infestation of sniveling prog filth leftist vermin green energy soy infused losers. Texas will not be a red real American state for much longer. Shame, too. A rather bell weather, critical state...when the infestation and destruction by the prog filth vermin is complete, it will be akin to our Navy losing all of their Aircraft Carriers.

Yes, you are very much retarded and apparently exceedingly proud of your low IQ. You demonstrate your pride in every post.

No simpleton, you dont get it at all, I accept consequences as a cost of doing business and dont cowardly try to lay blame elsewhere when things go wrong. If you want cheap power 99.9% of the time then be prepared to handle the consequences when things get off the rails.

Its called being an adult, you and the rest of the tRumpkins should try it.

I think the quote is him answering your question before you asked it. That’s the point sane people are trying to make - no one was going to make the uneconomic decision to prepare for this extremely rare event.

Did grandpa put his teeth in and tell you what to believe? Your schtick with Trump is old, the truth was laid out but your echo chamber mindset refuses to be even open minded because liberal filth think only their opinion and talk points matter. You’re not fooling anyone.

Actually now that I have had a chance to ponder a bit on this it is apparently the DNC's fault this cold wave has hit in the first place, after all they shut down the nations largest source of hot air in November.

that's basically it

there is no doubt you can build a more reliable system that can withstand rare events, but it is expensive

so, the question is, how much reliability can you afford?

Government subsidized green energy needs to stop. Government has no business interfering with energy production. Socialism at its worst.

The economic decision was not to put the 1 in a 1000 measures to prepare for this. Smart business decision.

Blaming wind turbines is a total PR move. It takes 30 seconds of research to know where the failures are. Again, smart business decision.
