They are soooo entitled they don't know that they don't know.
Tell it to the single Mom working two jobs to pay the bills about how poorly your buddies are being treated. Poor things.

quote:I do agree that athletes, again generally speaking here, have some pretty bad takes. So by default people siding with the owners are more likely to be right.
Well, if the owners came out and bitched about their situation as frequently as the players, that mentality would likely shift.
Most people likely side against overly pampered millionaires who bitch and moan about nonsensical crap 24/7 while they are paid generational wealth to play a children’s game.
And that isn’t siding with the owners.
It is rolling my eyes at overly privileged individuals complaining about things that are moronic.
But it's not uncommon for fans to have a certain point of view, only to come out against it when athlete voices that same view.

Harden loafed like a petulant child until he got his way. While still getting paid a kings ransom.
I have no respect for that. They should’ve benched his arse instead of letting him play while blatantly tanking the whole teams season to prove his point.
The NBA players of today have completely ruined the league for me.

But that speaks to Draymond's hypocrisy. He flatly stated Harden didn't handle it correctly, but also is mad at CLE for shutting down Drummond instead of allowing him to act a fool like Harden did?

It was strictly business. Nothing personal. you got to be able to separate the two. He is still on good terms with management / ownership and is very open to the idea of coming back after he gets a few rings.

It's almost like the team governs the rights to that player via a contract that the player agreed and signed to.
Weird.

Drummond is a cancer though. He's been a "me" player for a long time now.

That makes no sense to me if true. The business world doesn’t work that way for the rest of us.

I dont think they understand that being a union member you give up freedoms when they sign the cba.
The lack of information given to you by the union is the problem.
You are a member of the Players association and you are contracted by a signatory contractor
ie: a nba franchise. The team has minimums they must do and anything over that is courtesy. Regardless if you play or sit dress outvor dress down the check will clear until then you dont have say in shite legally. No on a personal level there is a double standard but it is different when a player is forcing their way out or a team is protecting its investment avoiding injuries.
The lack of balls by owners to control this has allowed it to to snowball into a classless dirtbag like draymond green complaining about guys making 20 million a year.

If Drummond wants out all he has to do is say he's not picking up next year's player option.

He is just a tag along. He ain't shite.

Most fans are fans of teams, not particular players. The owners represent the team and want what is best for the team.

Well if you ask a pretty well known NBA GM if you could take one player off that GSW W KD team to make them beatable who would
It be. Draymond was the immediate answer. I have seen it said quite a good bit that someone’s opinion on green is a “litmus test” of If they know their nba or not. I can see where they are coming from tbh.
