it isn't people be soft you fricking tool. the fact is southern people are not acclimated to this type of weather and temps - because it is such a rare event. people up north are used to it and don't complain much because it is every fricking year, multiple times. I lived up in Milwaukee for one winter where it snowed about once a week, and I will tell you - the cold like this down here bothered me far more than it did up there.
but hey - if you get your Jollies about making fun of people complaining about the cold in the south - you do you man, the rest of us could give 2 shits on what you think about it.

I wish. -11 here in Arkansas on the way to work this morning. But yes there are a lot of people on this board who are spoiled by modern amenities like electricity, heat/air, hot water, etc.
I've always loved primitive camping and backpacking and actually enjoy seeing how little I really need to survive.

I grew up in Chicago - it's a different situation. Leading into the weeks in the 10's and below there is a month or two of 20-30 degree weather so there is some acclimation.
Although, that few months of cold leads to my favorite day of the year - that random February day when it's 44 degrees and your mom is yelling at you for playing basketball outside, in a t-shirt, on a driveway that's soaking wet from the snow piles finally melting.
