Food Saver

Works well. It will overheat and not let you seal for a few minutes but that only when I'm in the middle of packing up a full deer. Not just daily use.

I've been using this gamesaver for a couple of years now. I love it. The gamesaver versions can do more consecutive seals without entering a cooldown lock mode than the regular foodsavers can. I think this one can do 40 or so seals while the regular foodsaver can do 5-10. I gave a coworker some tamales in a bag I sealed with this and he remarked at how tightly they were sealed. It does a great job.

ETA: my dad has the larger version with the onboard bag slicer and storage. I prefer the smaller version that I have because it takes up a lot less space.

I've been using the same Foodsaver for at least 10 years. It's got a strong vacuum and gets used quite a bit. I usually have my deer and hogs processed and then vacuum them myself to save money. Plus we buy whole slabs of Salmon to save $ and then cut them up individually and seal.

Get a chamber vac sealer and don’t look back. Much faster, easier and better results. Prices on them have come down a good bit too.

I bought one off Amazon, and it is a worthless piece of crap. Usually takes a couple tries to get it to seal.

Learned my lesson not to go cheap.

Food Saver here, eight years and going strong. My model folds up and literally takes up just four inches of counter space, and costs a fraction of a chamber vacuum sealer. The only drawback is as mentioned, it will overheat sometimes and you'll have to wait a few minutes, but this only happens when I'm doing close to a dozen seals.

Food Saver

I don't even know how long I've had it but it gets used regularly. We buy most of our meat in bulk at Sam's and then portion and seal accordingly. Never really had an issues with it other than if there's alot of moisture in whatever I'm sealing, it can prevent a full seal so I just have to pay attention to that.

I got the bottom of the line Food Saver on an after-Xmas sale several years ago for about $25. Still works great and takes up little space. If it broke, I'd probably buy another just like it.

Foodsaver with bulk roll.
Don't use it regularly, but it works well.
