I hunt about 15 miles south of Ruston. Members in our lease probably killed about 10 pigs during deer season.

Other than deer corn and rice bran, what are some other food sources to attract them? Now that deer season is over, it's time to put some lead in their earholes.

Put corn and water in 5 gallon buckets and let it sit for about 2 weeks or until it stinks so bad you can't stand it. Then go pour that out. The good thing is that it only attracts hogs.

Corn with Hawaii Punch in a 5 gallon bucket finish off with water. Put lid on and sit in the sun for 7-10 days to ferment. If you want to go bigger (55 gallon drum) mix corn, sugar, Kool Aid mix, yeast and water.

Like said. Soured corn is great

Someone will be along shortly and tell you corn soaked in diesel but don’t do that

Have y’all had hogs or have they recently moved in? I hunt in Simsboro about 10 miles west of Ruston and haven’t been invaded yet.

The best way to get pigs is to not want them. Then those bastards are everywhere.

Go to Family Dollar/Dollar General, buy the cheapest cake mix they have and some vanilla flavoring. Pour that on top of the corn.

I killed 23 last year and 9 in January of this year. A neighboring club killed 141 in 2020.

A big, fat, thick wallet seems to draw them in everytime.

Might want to hold back a few gallons of the liquid to distill.

Ok, but we have a hog problem too, I killed 2 this year but my cameras are full of night pictures. Our club is east of Quitman and west of Chatham

I used to do the "ferment corn kool aid mix". An old timer dumped corn and poured diesel over it in a trap. Pigs were in it the next day.

He converted me to the fast method of diesel.

Where we hunt in south La we use deer corn mixed with peanut butter rice bran and molasses that we get from the sugar mill. ( a buddy works there) mix it all together in a barrel for a few days. Once you put that on the ground you can smell that sh-t from a mile away. Works awesome!

So you want to attract hogs to your deer lease?
Anything that smells sweet added to the grain you're feeding the deer. Fruit, koolaid, sugar/molasses, etc. Let it spoil/sour for a few days in a barrel for maximum scent. Buy a flat of natty, keep a few for yourself and pour the rest out around the bait.
