HUNT Repellent
Posted by daberry on 10/8/25 at 4:08 pm
Tried a new product out, HUNT repellent. Company is based out of Lake Charles. Advantages of this over OFF include not greasy, doesn't make me sweat, deet free, gun, metal, and plastic safe, and scentless. They offer both a lotion and a spray bottle. Give it a try for those spending time outside whether working, hunting, football games, etc.

CHS NI in a three game series. No haircuts needed.
I have been in the equipment rental business since 2003. Although they are not a direct competitor, as 99% of our equipment if offshore-based, the clients that we share absolutely cannot stand to deal with them for their land-based jobs for a number of reasons. I can't understand how they can be so successful, as their reputation for equipment is not solid, and their prices are through the roof.

Yes sir it was. If they would have initially called it a TD, it would have stood.

Young man was great in the championship game against CHSNI. Fortunately, our DB got a pick off of him in the endzone on fourth down to secure a championship for the Panthers. With that said, unless he transfers, he will be tough to beat the next two years.
Outdoor Patio Track System Screens
Posted by daberry on 1/3/25 at 8:11 am
Any advice on who to use around the Lafayette/New Iberia area for outdoor screens with a motorized track system for my outdoor patio. North end of my patio. Not so much for climate control, rather to keep the area clean of debris. Thanks in advance.
re: New Roads - decent place to live?

Purchased a camp there recently. Really small town feel to it, clean, great food in the area to choose from. Great views being on the lake. Looking forward to some summers out there with the family.
All of the above. Generally just a place for family and friends to be on the water with a nice camp, wharf, etc.
Not so worried about fishing as much as water activities.

False River

Thinking of purchasing a camp on False River. Any feedback on where is the better location there? Any other information fire away.
The connection with CHS is fine, believe me. Desormeaux is about to build this program back up to the top.
ATV Trails

Where is a good place in La. with some ATV trails to take the kids to ride?
Googled some places, but would rather have first hand accounts from others.

Night Scope

Any recommendations for a thermal scope? Looking for something to mount on my AR15. Will be using to predator and hog hunt. I am guessing I would spend up to $1,500.00.

Wife's family land. Just outside of Clay, La.
Had them for years, not really bad yet.
Best Bait to Attract Pigs
Posted by daberry on 2/4/21 at 11:36 am
I hunt about 15 miles south of Ruston. Members in our lease probably killed about 10 pigs during deer season.
Other than deer corn and rice bran, what are some other food sources to attract them? Now that deer season is over, it's time to put some lead in their earholes.
