Had a Fuente 8-5-8 Maduro last night with a couple glasses of eagle rare. Really good cigar, may order a few.

I am a big fan of the 8-5-8. Very consistent for over 20 years for me, price point is very consistent, and in fact, paid more for them in the 90's than I do now.

I must have gotten a dud. I fought with the burn the entire time and wrote it off.

Picked up a Drew Estate Fat Bottom Betty that I smoked before the game. Very rich chocolate notes to go with a subtle spice. Too sweet for me, but it’s obvious why Drew Estate is so popular.

Smoking a Diesel Hair of the Dog I’ve had sitting the humidor for a while now. Very smooth nutty and earthy tones matched with some spice. Working well with this Glenlivet 18 I break out when LSU shits the bed

Interesting. I’ve not had that issue with them.

BUMP

Everyone must be having a busy week. Quiet in here!

I just finished building our garden boxes and filling them mushroom compost/manure to get ready for the growing season. Earned a good smoke today, so I decided to grab an Arturo Fuente 858 everyone talks about here. Fantastic!

That’s on my weekend plans as well. Going to get my veggies and herbs running in the boxes on Saturday. I’ll be treating myself during the job as well as once I finish.

What are y'all planning to grow?

I'm thinking a Trinidad Reyes is on deck for me tonight. Been a busy, but very good week so far.

By the downvote on every 858 mention, I would ask that person to tell us why you don’t like it? Not meant to create an arguement, just curious to know why.

Hope you enjoyed the stick!

I wish my palate was refined to give great breakdowns but I just know what I like. In case anyone is looking for a little variety here are some of the sticks I enjoyed lately.

This bourbon goes nicely with this Trinidad. The bourbon is light with a pleasant citrus note (I get orange peel) on the palate while the cigar is creamy smoothness with hints of cedar.

Pickling cucumbers, tomatoes, banana peppers, jalapeños and Thai chilis along with all the staple herbs. I’m no green thumb so I stick to the simple stuff.

Really I love working in the yard with a cigar. Been building my outdoor kitchen, and painting while pulling on a cigar is such a beautiful moment. I look forward to it. Plan to smoke an Ashton. Such a great mild smoke that works well with my palate

I can’t recommend the Foundation Tabernacle enough. Not too pricey and a just a really good cigar. I broke down and bought a box of the Davidoff Churchill 2021 limiteds and even though I’m an idiot for paying that much for something I’m going to set on fire they are extremely enjoyable. Probably the best cigar I’ve had in a couple of years

Pretty sure they are boxes of ten so only 300/400.

I was thinking 25...damn. Enjoy. Davidoff makes a fine cigar. I went to the Davidoff of Geneva cigar store/bar in Tampa. The bourbon list was impressive, and probably had one of the best cigars while there.

Been quite a few years since I smoked an Ashton, and remember it was a very good smoke. Which one are you going to smoke?

Sorry if this has been asked already, but if you buy a box of 20 cigars, do you remove them from the box and place individually in your humidors or, assuming it will fit, stick the whole box in the humidor?
