2020 tundra also has remote start on the keyfob..press lock 3 times and on the 3rd time hold it down until the lights blink twice
Can you turn the Toyota’s on or off from an app on the phone?

I hate them. To much cheap plastic on the interior

I went from an 09 AC to a 20 DCSB OR, I love my Taco. The community support on the truck is unlike anything else out there. It works great on trails and more than fine for throwing my dirt and mountain bikes in the back. Good enough for everything else.

Lazy transmission (I usually drove in manual mode) Lack of tech compared to every other manufacturer Too little leg room in back seat for adults to be comfortable Poor MPG relative to power and truck size (18.5 MPG mixed) More road noise than average truck Stiff ride (but it’s an off road truck, so...) MPG would drop down to 13-14 MPG when towing my boat (3,000 Lbs) or little camping trailer (1500 Lbs) Composite bed is like a new teflon frying pan Composite bed feels cheap Composite bed lets water in from multiple locations Janky touch screen with sh!tty apps Poor quality backup camera
Damn. It’s almost like you forgot you didn’t buy a full sized truck

Tundra supposed to be getting a total makeover soon anyway and will presumably have more tech and some of it might even be useful

Yeah, imagine buying a small truck and complaining that it’s not a big truck

Amazing how important "tech" is nowadays. Used to be it was power, style, reliability.
That and "truck guys" demanding vented massage seats.

The Honda Ridgeline is very reliable, gets decent mpg, has an excellent Honda VTEC engine, tows 5,000 lbs, and has comfortable seats (although the arm rests are stupid). It’s the ideal mid sized truck for soccer dads or plant baws that only occasionally tow a utility trailer or aluminum fishing boat. And that’s what most truck owners are if they are being honest. And they corrected that stupid front end styling for the 2021 model year. Looks decent now for a small/mid sized truck.
You don’t need to justify your gay truck to us man

I'm on my 3rd tacoma a d I basically agree with you. Not sure if you knew there is an EJT button that over rides the crappy tramssion tuning software and gives you much more pep. But like you say, the trade in/resale value is crazy. I just traded in my 2017 and got $500 more than what I paid for it.

So what’d you trade into?

There is a patch for the ECU that helps a lot too. You need to go ask for them to put that TSB on your truck, info is on TW. I have the ECT auto on mod I bought from Wonderslug on TW.

Yes, it’s rediculous. New trucks dim the damn headlights automatically. Why?

Plant baws love trucks and they love safety features

I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road. But it's a manual so I don't have any issues with a lazy transmission.
Like you said it works for me because I'm not towing a ton or anything I just live in Denver and go to the mountains all the time so it's good for that terrain. Plus I can camp in the back since I have a topper. So I'm using it for different reasons than you. Plus I love driving stick in the mountains

I'm about to trade my 2016 and upgrade to a newer model. I definitely agree with the road trip complaint. I'd rather be in a F150. And the MPG isn't that great. But overall, they're great vehicles.

What kind of tires and brake pads you running that last 155k
I figured most sensible people would include tires and brake pads into normal wear and tear / maintenance for vehicles. BUT, since I need to point out the obvious for some: I also had to refill the windshield wiper fluid a couple dozen times, replaced the windshield wipers 3 times, replaced the battery twice, and have had it detailed a couple dozen times. I also add a new air freshener probably ever 3rd or 4th time I have it detailed if I’m feeling generous.
I guess username “weadjust” isn’t used to experiencing these car maintenance steps in his vehicles. dunno

HIS!!!
Traded in my 2017 Ram for a 2020 Tundra...paid a good bit more than a similar Ram would've cost, but here's what I had on my OLD Ram that isn't on the new Tundra:
Remote start on keyfob
Power rear window (Tundra's you have to crawl back there and open it by hand)
Dual zone A/C
Auto up and down on all windows (Tundra, only driver window down)
Power side mirror fold in and out
Radio sucks
Apps are awful
and the list goes on.
SHould have stuck with Ram
You must have gotten an SR5 with no options.
Yeah, my tundra has power rear window, premium sound, dual zone ac, etc.
Gas mileage sucks and yeah, Toyota’s apps suck, but I don’t buy vehicles for their apps. I love knobs and simplicity, I can’t stand buttons where dials work, and scrolling thru screens for shiat. Just give me what I need.

Kidding...I got a 2019 Ram.

I regretted not getting a manual on my drive home from the dealership.
