I'm gonna give it a D+. I hunted near Intracoastal City and various spots along the river. The first two weeks were solid, but it was downhill from there.

I hunt public land so take my grade for what it's worth. But I hunted 5 different spots between Big Branch and Pearl River and didn't even shoot my gun.

Teal Season was A+ for us... then big duck season started slow and tapered off. D+

Didn't kill a duck after opening weekend in SW rice field. Didn't see a duck our last 4 hunts. We pulled decoys last weekend and gave up with days still left. Have property I hunt on the Amite river and never sniffed a wood duck either from there which is crazy. About sums it up for me.

Lots of teal, rarely shot limits and very few big ducks.
Hunted Kansas earlier this week. My god.

There is something going on with the wood ducks in LA and MS.

Dunno. We always have wood ducks there sitting in the little potholes. Used to sit in the stand and hear them coming over like jets squealing away all early morning and right at dusk. Past two years its like they vanished.

A - Hunted in Gibson/Bayou Black area. Had lots of ducks the entire season. Mostly Ringnecks, BWT and Canvasback. Still very fun. Also, teal season was very solid, which is not usual for us.

Teal Season - Point Ala Hache - A+
Big Duck Season - Pheonix (South of Delacroix) - C - Dos Gris for days, a few divers and big ducks saved the season from being a total dud. I dont think anyone at the camp shot teal after the first week of the season. We did get a few pintail and wigeon throughout the season which isnt too common.

You have an excellent point. I had a spot in the TNWR that I hunted for years. Always had tons of woodies. They are virtually gone. I always suspected the huge rise in the alligator population was the cause but perhaps not. They would fly out by the thousands in the morning. Typically don’t hear more than 10-20 in the past 3-5 hrs. Your comment is spot on in my little corner of the world

Our farm in Washington/Sharky/Issaquena was about like last year. We’ve killed birds but limits are a lot harder to come by than they used to be. Would rate it a B- I guess. Had a couple good shoots in Rodney MS

I would give it a B. We killed a lot of ducks, just not the quality of ducks i prefer. The week after Christmas was slow. Only one 0 this year.

I get the chance to hunt a few different spots in the state and I would give the overall rating a C. Youth weekend around Braithwaite was light out with our blind shooting a limit by 6:45 that Saturday. Opening weekend there was below average with about 18 ducks total taken from the same blind. Our spots in Venice were good for the first split until what was left of the feed from the hurricanes was wiped out. Those spots tapered off drastically the second split. I just think there wasn't any feed to keep anything around. Hunted some spots in northeast Louisiana. Some public and some private. Woodies were always pretty thick and on the sunny days the mallards would work well.

Same, in the same general area. Most wood ducks I have ever seen though.

A+, I limited on pintails, mallards, teal and wigeon, on my one and only hunt, of course it was at white Lake
