Damn. I was looking forward to this one. Rami and Denzel should make for a great movie.
Disappointing.
Disappointing.

Leto was great but there was no pay off. Maybe this movie was trying to be too smart for its own good. It’s the Triple Frontier of thrillers. Complete dud.

Denzel looks old in this movie
And rami looks like he still got the damn Freddie mercury mouth prosthetic in his mouth

Denzel is old. This wasn't up to snuff for a Denzel film. Not a bad movie, not a great movie just kind of meh.

I like the performances of Denzel and Leto but the script is so damn bad.
And as for most every movie these days they could’ve chopped off a solid 20 minutes and the movie would’ve been better for it.

Are we not supposed to like triple frontier? I mean I get the disappointing part, but I still like it.

Well, according to stats, he has about a decade to go.

I really liked it and it does have a twist ending. It's a lot deeper than people are giving it credit for. However, it's not a movie you want to watch over and over like Mulholland Drive.

Was it great? No. I thought the first part of the movie was extremely slow, but picked up once Leto was introduced.
Spoilers
So, do y'all think Jared Leto was the killer? He was a creepy frick, for sure. He seemed to enjoy the interrogation and the police following him around, but 8 years earlier, he signed a confession to a murder, but was like 10 miles away or some shite, so it wasn't really him. Also, he didn't really keep any trophies, just news clippings, as we saw with the fake red barrette that Denzel bought.
This initially led me to think he wasn't really the killer, but then I keep going back to the whole mile marker 467 thing and how that was never made public knowledge as to where the body was dropped off. Or did I get that whole scene wrong?

Never made public, but Malek's character tells Denzel that it was shared over police radio, which Leto's character monitored. The empty box in the end also makes us question whether Denzel imagined the clippings like he imagined numerous other things in his hotel room. Intentional ambiguity.

Disappointed that this movie is getting generally negative reviews. I was looking for an excuse to go to the theater, but I'm not going to pay theater prices for a mediocre film.
