Budweiser becomes latest Super Bowl commercial stalwart to sit out this year's broadcast
More and more advertisers are saying no thanks bc they don't want to offend anyone and no matter what their ad says or shows, someone is getting butthurt and will claim victim status.

MSN (sorry)
They're claiming the virus is the reason but that's not the case.

Pretty sure it's because the advertisers are not stupid and they know that the price tag that comes along with SB commercials is not worth it this year due to the huge reduction in viewership vs the price being charged.
But go ahead and keep on thinking whatever it is you think about offending people, that sounds cooler.

So why is there a reduction in viewership?

These two issues aren't necessarily exclusive. They are inextricably linked.
Viewership of the NFL is down bc of the pc/sjw and political bullshite. Covid impacts, we now see, clearly fall squarely under that umbrella.

As long as the nfl is hurting, I'm good with it. Hopefully they close the doors on this bad product.

They’re still showing ads for bud light and others. Just not bud heavy.

Who said boycotts don't have an effect?

I thought the halftime show was sponsored by Pepsi? You can't watch TV for 5 minutes without seeing an ad for it.

Anyone still watching it is part of the problem.

We all know why, which doesn't change the economics of the situation, which is what the articles are about.

Pepsi, Budweiser, and Doritos are usually top 3 for Superbowl commercials.

I remember a time when the next day after the superbowl, all everyone talked about was who had the best commercial. What a fall the NFL has taken.

What’s news of the puppy bowl? That’s all I really care about anymore.
If we see puppies wearing bandannas with “black labs matter“, will that offend anyone?

If a company buys a super bowl add, and nobody watches, do they sell product?

A huge reduction in viewership?
Why is that?

I saw something about this a week or so ago. The NFL made its' own SJW bed; it can die in that same bed. Just think. The NFL owners pay the commissioner, Roger Goodell, either $40 or $50 million per year (been awhile since I saw the contract numbers, but the total amount of the contract was $200 million over either 4 or 5 years). Can you imagine paying someone $200 million dollars to preside over the slow death of your own industry?
The moral to this story? It's not good business to demonize America, or the people who know that America is the best country on the face of the planet.

Still a good many people on this board who are watching because "it can't hurt"

Anheuser-Busch is still planning to run a Bud Light ad, though, I believe.
Still, that cuts them from having Budweiser and Bud Light ads to just having a Bud Light ad.
