Half of New Orleans shootings/murders occur in Nola East and 9th Ward

Not too surprising. The city would be somewhat decent if the East disappeared. Sad that area used to be nice until the late-80s.

Gentrification of a city

Geographically those two areas probably account for more than 50% of the city.
Population maybe 1/3.

Only half? That’s kind of shocking

It really is crazy how fast the area went to shite. Driving down Chef Menteur is a harrowing scene. There are countless abandoned and blighted buildings. Former strip malls have maybe one or two occupied tenants, which consist mainly of Cricket wireless/Boost mobile-types, beauty shops, and dollar stores. It's like driving through a third world country.

Legitimate question for you NO baws:
What do you think could be done (realistically) to curb the crime and business problems?
What would an OT run New Orleans look like?

Bet that took a lot on research and study.

So the other half happen in central city, midcity , gentilly, Algiers and treme
What difference does it make where the murders occur?
Garbage piece by garbage paper

The 7th ward was awful the past few years, but seems to have calmed down now. 7th ward was solid blue collar family territory in the 90s.

I wonder what happened in that time frame

Potholes in the east are basically craters.

Huh, I’ll be damned. I would have thought that most of them would have been on St Charles.

The city would be halfway decent if it just fell off the face of the earth. NOLA is a total shithole

No surprise here. Oh, and the 9th Ward encompassed the East too. The bigger problem is that half of the shootings/murders are happening outside those areas.

So it’s white trump supporters?

Baton Rouge would be fairly decent if we could get rid of north Baton Rouge. Unfortunately crime has a way of migrating across areas.

I’m more interested in where the shooters live than where they shot someone.
