30-30 only good to 100 yards bro. We are talking about 1000 yard shots on whitetail deer thru the swamp.
2 types of people in this thread:
The ones who understand ballistics and understand what the cartridge is with proper bullet selection
And
Guys who spend way too much time listening to dumb asses around the fire at the camp. MuH TRacKIng DoG buDDy

You are ate up with it my man. There’s nothing particularly exciting about 6.5CM ballistics at actual hunting distances, and those bullet selections you’re using to loophole it into a successful hunting round aren’t what’s being put on the shelf for the 10 minutes it’s there, if they are even loaded from the factory.

We know. It’s been well established throughout.
I’m not using a loophole. Just pointing out if you buy actual hunting bullets, it performs just fine. Well, me and the ten other posters who’ve made the point in technical terms.

So, explain to me in technical terms how I shoot ammunition that I can’t buy. On paper the caliber is perfectly capable as me and 10 other posters have made clear in practical terms, but you are still white knighting for your baby that made hornady’s nut on the target ammo that’s actually being produced, sold, and shot at deer.

You don’t hear real hunting bullet excuses for the .30-06. But I do hear plenty of baby talk for the needmore. If you feed it perfect bullets and kiss it on the stock before you shoot, then you just might limit it to a 150 yard blood trail.

Gotta learn to skip the bullets across the water.

If the Ferrari dealership put towing packages on their cars would people be pissed cus they couldn’t tow a 42 ft freeman??!! Kind of what’s happening with the people who buy “match” bullets to hunt!! Imho but I don’t have one I just kill deer with the other rounds that can’t kill deer (30-30 270 7mag 308 and gasp 243 ohh 223 and 6.8) but I use bullets designed to kill shite not match shite.

We’ll keep killing deer with it and let the camp queens bitch and moan
I think it’s hilarious

My theory is that all the 7 Mag, 300 Mag and 338 Mag dudes who make fun of smaller calibers for fricking white tails are over compensating for something else.
I want a 7mm mag. Not because my 270wsm or 270 Win can't get it done, but because I want something with a little more oomph. Nothing to do with whitetail deer. I could get a 300Win mag but I rather the 7mm.
I also want a smaller caliber either 243 or 7mm-08. I thought about the 6.5cm but I don't want a gimmick cartridge. 6.5 x55 is great but the rifle costs more. So I'll see. That 7mm-08 is probably what I'll get.

Your hate for a rifle cartridge shouldn’t keep you up at night. Myself and others are just here to clarify it’s a perfectly fine hunting round.
As for 06, there aren’t many target bullets produced for it and sold at your average retailer. That eliminates a lot of your slack jaw low information guys from buying something they shouldn’t.
