What makes your handwriting go to hell?

My penmanship used to be immaculate. Pretty much just write in print these days, except for signatures.
Started that in college (still have most of my notebooks) and the notes look professionally done.
Could even do calligraphy.
All of the sudden it started looking like $h!+.
Looks like it was written while having a seizure.

My handwriting has always been chicken scratch to most and barely legible to me

I would say mine went to shite in college for classes that called for a lot of note taking. I did almost all cursive growing up but it changed to some sort of hybrid. Now it looks like a 6 year olds writing.

Trying to keep up with the professor in history class killed my handwriting. Any big class really but that history guy would just start talking and not take a break the whole hour.
