I was stationed at MCLB which had a very small Marine Population, but a lot of civilian employees. The MPs were really the only ones who were ever armed, and you hardly ever saw them.

The new Colt AR15 is just a sourced out fraud. How Colt can lose market share in this gun buying bonanza is beyond the pale of poor management.

Did Beretta U.S.A. make them or Beretta? You know, kinda like how the current sidearm is a SIG Sauer, but it's designed, engineered, and manufactured in America by Sig Sauer, Inc. not its sister German company. My P320 was definitely made in America.
I know that you can find model 92s that were made in American and you can find Italian models (mine's Italian, for instance). Maybe the military's sidearms were made here by a American branch of an Italian company.
Now I need to get a Colt 1911 and I've got every main sidearm we've used all the way back to the turn of the 20th century.

I like CZ too.
The important thing here is to ensure that the manufacturing remain in the U.S.
We just saw with the problem with reliance on foreign pharmaceuticals being an actual national security issue. We need to keep the designers, engineers, tool makers and skilled craftsmen that know how to make firearms within our borders.

The M9's issued to military were made in USA by Beretta USA in their Accokeek, Maryland factory. Berry Amendment makes it to where that equipment has to be made in the USA.

CZ buying Colt is probably the best thing for Colt. The Czech Republic is a firearm friendly nation that makes not just duty weapons but competition models. Colt has relied on legacy to sell firearms and showed heavily on their AR15s. My 6940 works well but doesn't hold a candle to its competitors in features and options especially for the price. Same can be said for their other firearms.
Yes they'll be made here for military contracts but I'm hoping that should CZ aquire them, we see more options, availability and a better price tag.

Another thing to consider is if they do buy Colt, it would give CZ a factory in the US.
Not sure if they have anything here or not. Every other major firearm has factories here, so it would be a good move for them for probably pretty cheap.

I guess as a fallback we could get by with them being made in Mexico or Canada.

I think as long as they are made in the US it would be alright. CZ has CZUSA and already makes a lot of guns here.
CZ is a great company, very strong following. They've owned Dan Wesson awhile as noted, and haven't degraded any of their pistols.
They made a run of 1911's a couple years back under the CZ line, and didn't mess around with the DW lineup to do so, meaning they didn't kill a line in order to boost sales in the other brand.
I've browsed a CZ fan forum, and some people have made visits to the parent company in the Czech Republic;
very well-run company.
High quality manufacturing, obvious pride in their products.
There was plenty of emphasis on their history, too:
They were part of the Warsaw Pact until the '90's. The Czechs were allowed to make their own firearm models, instead of being mandated to make "Czech" Tokarevs, Makarovs, SKS and AKs, etc. I think they were the only country to be able to do so, it was because of how respected their firearm industry was.
Also being a former Communist country, what I've gathered is that they are VERY pro-West and freedom oriented, a very gun-friendly European country. They've "been there, done that" with the Socialist stuff, and like Poland and Hungary, have zero interest to do it again.

As an added bonus the women are smoking hot and Prague is sex capitol. As a single man I believe I need a vacation there.
Back to the guns though, on the US manufacturing side , I would hope they continue the AR15s with some updates to make Colt competitive and perhaps bring some of their popular tactical weapons here or at least do like Arsenal and WBP does.
I think they can do it but we'll see how it goes.

CZ Fan here, Have 75 P01 compact and 2075 Rammi.
The new P10 striker fired is being manufactured by Cz USA in Kansa City USA.
My next purchase is a striker fired 9mm.
Either CZ P10, Walther M2 or the M&P 2.0
Anyone have first hand info on above?

Mike Pannone has some praise for the P10. He used one as his edc. Not sure if he still does but he is on Instagram.

I own 3 modern CZ's that were all made in the Czech Republic but are also stamped on the side with Kansas City KS, because it is their distribution center in the US. Their guns are not made in the US.
