Skalski hit in our game last year was targeting, last night's call is total crap!

If a player can't knock the crap out of a player in the rib area and not get called for targeting, why don't we just play two hand touch. Skalski did lead with his helmet, but he's the one risking injury. I understand hitting in the head and neck area is dangerous for the defenseless player, but he nailed Fields in the rib area, just like it's been done for decades. Stalski didn't deserve to get kicked out after simply making a hard hit.

He tackles like someone with no brain cells left but agreed it was a weak call.

I’m not reading your whole post because the title is enough for me to know you are an idiot

Leading with the crown is targeting. It's not a grey area. Skalski is a punk who does it way too often. If he broke his neck pulling that shite, he and his family would sue the school and NCAA.

The rule is in place so he doesn’t break his own neck.

He broke a very strict rule. And has a history of it throughout his entire college career. Got what he deserved.
And the rule is in place to protect the defender just as much as the guy getting hit.

YOU CAN NOT LEAD WITH THE CROWN OF THE HELMET

The rule is in place to protect those making the hits as much as those getting hit. That type of hit is exactly what the rules committee is trying to prevent. It was a textbook example of how not to tackle someone. He didn’t get a penalty for drilling a guy in the ribs. He got ejected for leading with the crown of his helmet.

Why doesn’t it get called on RBs, WRs, OLine, DLine, FBs on EVERY play. There needs to be an intent factor

He launched leading with the crown of his helmet that is targeting. The rule is the dumbest rule in sports, but the interpretation of it last night was correct.
The fact that it leads to removal of players from a game is absolutely ridiculous.

I’m going say it loud for the people in the back...IT WAS TARGETING!! He led with the crown of the helmet. It doesn’t have to be to the head or neck.
The dude has a history of doing this. They are not only trying to protect the offensive player, but the tackling player so he doesn’t break his neck.

Posted it after our game last year —-he has a reputation. The refs watch him as a result of the reputation. He has been ejected at least 4 times in the last two years. He and the Clemson coaches know all of this, despite so he continues to launch and lead with the crown of the helmet.

The other 500 stupid threads he usually starts on here should have given that away a long time ago.

I hate Skalski, he is 100% a dirty player (“hard hitter” my arse) and I jumped for joy when he got ejected, but, I am relieved for the kid that he didn’t wake up paralyzed today.
He took his dad’s advice on “always making them feel the hit” a little too keenly. Just imagine what his Dad would be thinking beyond the grave right now, if his son broke his own neck trying to heed that advice.

Running backs lead with their head all the time and they also strike defenders in the face mask all the time when they stiff arm a defender, but nothing is called. However, if a OL/DL hits in the mask area, it's a penalty!

Not supposed to use your helmet as a weapon. Football organizations from top to bottom are basically saying learn to tackle or gtfo.

Yeah, but according to the glue sniffing OP, if he is launching with only a risk of injury to his own self it should be ok.

No, it's not! It's put there to protect a defenseless player! The defender is not a defenseless player, so don't tell me it's put in there to protect the defender! This is the protect the offensive player, period!

Is he though? Because he seemed to injure Fields pretty good on the play. Could have broken his ribs.
