As a former goalie, I can argue with that card. Howard was kicked in the head after the play and he was in a prone position. The guy whould have been carded, and of course Howard ran his mouth. He didn't accept the apology after the fact and well he shouldn't. If the ref isn't going to protect the goalie, the goalie has to protect himself.

i dont like agreeing with you this much

WINNER WINNER

MAD PROPS TO HOWARD. looked great

man, with the exception of a lapse or two, we looked fricking OUTSTANDING in the last 25 minutes or so, right around when the goal was scored

Exactly. Goal is to win at home and draw in the road. Huge win for the US.

Either Howard or Gooch. If we're honest, Howard is almost always the man of the match...

That late promo for the MLS game of the week tomorrow reminded me of how weird it is that McBride's back in the MLS and not with Columbus.

Agreed and I would give my left nut to have Ricardo Clark kick the shite out of him again.

I really think the strategy Bradley has employed of playing in touch environments has really helped this team. In the last year or so they have played numerous games in Europe and the cup down in South America with our less experienced players.

The US has to play in some big time shite/hostile environments and it can really shake a less experienced player. Oh how I would love for the US to go into Azteca and beat those little fricks if we get the chance.

With Jozy and Freddie Adu (and Mo Edu) in the side, I think we can do it.

Was it just me or was Landicakes damned near invisible tonight?

That straight red on the pu66y who knocked head with Eddie Lewis was well deserved.

We deserved every bit of that win. I get that the undertalented Guatemalans were scrappy and all that and trying hard for the home crowd but the level of dirty play they stooped to was appalling. Fokkers.

And fock El Pescadito in his little fish-face.
Cheating fokker.

Bring on the banana-rat eating Cubans.

This might be better than winning a World Cup. Jesus I hate the Mexicans.

Lost 3-1 tonight vs. T&T

We should win, not easily, but we should win nonetheless.

As for this game. We reallllly need to start making the transition to some younger guys. It is clear Eddie Lewis cannot get it done anymore as he was nearly invisible until his head almost got taken off. Landon Donovan also proved again that when he is the focal point of the offense and has to create he sucks donkey dick. Minus Dolo's throwing the ball down and hand tripping a guy (maybe the two dumbest yellow cards in a game in history??), he actually played pretty well. However, we desperately need to find a Left Back because Pearce is very very bad. I really like Dempsey and I actually like Bradley (at times). I just think it's imperative to get Altidore some WCQ's under his belt along with Adu.

Most on this board absolutely hate Donovan and I'm no fan, but I think it's just because he's overrated. He's a very good player, but he's not a superstar, I don't care what anyone says. He's a role player that can do good things when someone else creates for him. That's why I think Adu is critical because he is just an absolute animal and is fearless. Arena never made the transition to the youth movement and Bradley needs to learn from his mistakes and start playing some younger guys.

Question time: Does anyone think Masteroni could slide to the back line? Maybe Left Back? I know this is WAY to offensive minded, but I would love to see a lineup like this:
F-Dempsey
F-Altidore
RM-Donovan
RCM-Bradley
LCM-Adu
LM-Beasley
RB-Dolo
RCB-Gooch
LCB-Bocanegra
LB-Masteroni
And if Beasley isn't doing much sub Edu in or if Dempsey gets tired move Donovan up to F and sub Edu in there.

Problem is we have virtually zero defense in the midfield, but i'll take a 4-3 victory!!
