Last night my stomach began cramping in an unusual manner. Figured it was just gas or symptoms of eating pizza earlier, so went and took a dump and temporarily felt better. An hour later I developed a low grade fever which went away with Ibuprofen. Now I’m lying in bed and not in pain, but the right side of my abdomen feels tender.
Am I panicking or should I think about getting checked out?

When I was in college, home over the winter break, I developed extreme nausea and violent vomiting. After several hours of this they decided it was appendicitis even though I had no abdominal tenderness. They were getting ready to prep me for surgery when whatever it was passed and I felt fine. They sent me home and an hour later I was eating a cheeseburger.

Yes, I had it, but mine came on much worse. Started throwing up and eventually ended up folded over on the bathroom floor. Couldn't stand up straight to walk if I tried.

How’s your appetite? That was a big trigger for me- I didn’t think have an appetite for 2 days.
I thought mine was food poisoning from eating undercooked pork chops- mostly same symptoms, though. Low grade fever, abdominal pain (started in the center of my stomach then moved to the lower right side. I thought whatever it was had passed, but I ended up having mine removed that day. You definitely do not want it to rupture- it gets way more serious. Go get blood work done.

I had discomfort for probably 2 or 3 months that I thought was just bad gas. Never really sharp pains or got sick but just uncomfortable. It did get bad enough towards the end that I went to the ER and ended up having surgery that night. Dr said mine had a slow leak and was fortunate it didn't burst. I'd probably go get it checked out if I were you.

When I had it I woke up and could hardly get out of bed. Couldn’t stand up straight to walk. Pain was excruciating.

Maybe panicking a bit, but if you have the time and the means, get it done for the sake of your psyche.
My appendix exploded when I was 10. Woke up in the morning hurting, showed my mom where it hurt (she knew I wasn't fricking around when I dropped trow), and she drove me to the doc. Doc examined me, said it was probably appendicitis. Mom responds that her brother is a surgeon in Birmingham and she will take me there. Doc says, no, take this child to the local ER right now. shite exploded on the way. Spent a week in the hospital before gleefully playing smear the queer with my friends on a bunch of pain pills shortly thereafter.

Mine ruptured while in the hospital, but they didn’t know it because of all the pain meds I was on. I’m lucky they decided to go in and explore, it was bad.
I would say the pain I was in, that made me finally go to the hospital, is about as close as a man can get to feeling what giving birth feels like.
I wouldn’t wish what I had on anyone

Same. Christmas eve my sophomore year of highschool. At the grandparents and didn't feel like eating. No big pain or anything, just didn't feel right.
Didn't sleep that night. It was the Christmas after the big Sosa/Mcguire homerun battle season because I remember ESPN had a special recapping it on a loop all night. The next morning I told my mom something wasn't right. She grabbed her copy of one of those medicine for the family books everyone used to have and a few minutes later she asked if my right side was tender, it was, and she said "you have appendicitis, let's go."
The doctor confirmed it in the ER and they took it out an hour or two later.

Yes, and that sounds about how I felt. I went to the ER at that stage and was in surgery a few hours later. Doctors said going so early saved me from a whole lot of pain

Lay down flat on your back and have someone tap on the bottom of your right heel. If it hurts on the right side of your stomach, it’s very likely your appendix.

Get it checked out. You don’t mess with appendicitis.
I had it three times in my life. The first time I thought it was food poisoning or something because I threw up everything I ate the night before. The second time I just played it off as something else. The third time was the worst. The doctor ran some tests and took me straight to the ER. It was the first surgery I ever had.

Yes. While hunting. It was a long walk back to the camp. Hurt like hell.

Fever, abdominal pain, excruciating pain when the right side of my stomach was pressed. Don't wait, get checked.

My appendix was removed and replaced with fütnotes.

You should absolutely go to either the hospital or a doctors office immediately. You do not want to run the risk that it has ruptured as the surgery option could become more invasive.

Probably alcohol induced. Seen it a lot over the holidays

Yep, go to your local doc. Could be IBS, but better confirm.
My wife had hers removed. She was in pretty acute pain and could hardly walk in the doctor office when I carried her.

Yes, two months ago. I woke up around 4 AM with extreme pain in my right abdomen. Tried for two hours to get back to sleep. Got up and took two Tylenol and felt much better. Had pain still just much less. Went about my day taking Tylenol as needed toughing it out. Which is not what I should have done with something as deadly as an appendicitis. Went to sleep the next night and once again woke in the early morning in extreme pain. Then I decided to drive to the ER. I got there and the Doctor prodded my abdomen and I didn't react. So they ordered X-Rays, almost immediately rushed back and told me I had an acute appendicitis. They prepped me for surgery and off I went to the OR. I was in the hospital overnight then took a Lyft home. I had two of my friends retrieve my car that same day.
