Let’s say it’s Harrell and Mason. Are you pleased or pissed?

I’m not pissed but not super excited with either hire. Both kind of blah.

Content but not ecstatic

very disappointed. when has Mason done anything? He doesn't even have much experience on defense. he shouldn't even be considered nor Harrell. If O is stupid enough to hire them, he deserves what's coming. We need great coordinators, not mediocre at best.

I’d be in “Wait and see” mode.

I can see Harrell doing very well with LSU/ in state talent...we produce at a higher level than most at skill positions on the offensive side of the ball...I’ve always thought west coast kids were vastly over ratted due to their over exposure.... Their four and fives haven’t been turning out like ours...

Pissed both seemed like they settled and rushed.
Seems as uncreative as the Linehan, Pelini hires

Lmao you trying to say Cali doesn’t produce WR talent? He’s got a bunch of 5* guys at usc right now.

This has been O & LSU's repeated problem. No thorough search for coordinators.

I’d want Callaway and Mason. Callaway is the real deal in my humble opinion.

What if we retain callaway but hire Harrell

Harrell I’m fine with, Mason I’m very concerned with.

There's no super hot names out there on either side. Unless they hire Sark or Venables or both, any hires are going to be whelming.

If that is the hire O will be gone after next year.

Frustrated more than anything. One thing you can count on O to do is frick up hiring coordinators. What they need on both sides of the ball is continuity scheme wise with a little more flexibility and creativity added in. Harrell would overhaul our O. Keep Calloway as OC and bring back Munoz as PGC to move more back to the RPO spread mix that Brady have us last year. On D wanna stay with a 4 man front with flexibility, Freeman brings that. Mason is a 2 gap guy who would offset everything we’ve spent the last year doing recruiting and personell wise. Why hire a man expensive guy at OC and lame arse retread like Mason at DC when you could go cheap and get Calloway/Munoz and spend big bucks on Freeman?!?!

I’d be as excited as I was last year with the hires

What's the knock on Harrell?
Quick look at his resume says 2 top 25 offenses with UNT and did pretty well in 2019 with USC. With him being a QB before, he should be able to help develop QBs, something LSU has needed.
