I think so too

I hope the coaching staff doesn't listen to WAFB and the tiger droppings posters,(including me) because most of them never played a down of football. If Brennan is healthy, Brennan should start.

But you're likely to get Max, TJ, who is not like another Brandon Harris, and Nussmeier. It's Brennan who can't take the chance. You don't have to go negative on TJ. Everyone sees what Max did. TJ will get better and will likely be needed down the road. His main issues are consistent foot work and mechanics. At the end of next season if Nuss is better, then and only then is LSU OK if Finley leaves. They need a 3rd QB next year with eligibility left. Brennan should not be that QB because it affect Max's ability to get to the field at worst. And it won't be if Max wins an open competition,

Finley has the most natural ability as a pure passer. He can effortlessly make throws the others simply can't due to his arm strength and compact release. That ability allows the entire field to be wide open. That said, he's probably the most inconsistent of the 3 and is behind the other two in just general command of playing the position (Brennan has been in the program for 4 years and Johnson has a former NFL QB father to team him the nuances of the game).

If, IF, Finley and the coaching staff can work out his mechanical inconsistencies AND meld his natural physical ability with a greater understanding of the position as a whole, then he could be a very special talent. I'm sure that's why he got the first opportunity to start after Brennan's injury. That said, I suspect the staff trusts Brennan and Johnson much more at the moment. Neither can make some of the throws Finley can make. But both are less prone to boom or bust plays. You have a better idea of what you are going to get from those guys right now.

QBs and receivers have chemistry. Why do you think chase didn’t want to come beck? He knew.

1A is Myles, 1b is Max, 1c is TJ, Nuss is not even on the radar yet. I love the competition at QB. Can't take the heat=transfer.

I’d feel very comfortable with either Max or Brennan starting, not saying Finley can’t improve. But how quick can he?

I worry that #2 will leave. Both Myles and Max have shown themselves to be capable of starting. If Myles loses in the Spring he's gone. If Max loses, is he willing to sit for two more years?

I mean, one is a Junior with two years left and the other two are true freshman. It’s called finally having QB depth for the first time in what, more than a decade?

Another reason I didn’t get anyone rushing to crown either Finley or Johnson the main guy already. Brennan is the starter. Easy. I’m not in a rush to throw a freshman out there just to do it.

I like Max because Myles will probably get killed if the line doesn't drastically improve.

Transfer portal seems to be an iffy proposition right now. It’s bursting at the seams, plus everyone is getting an extra year of eligibility. Seems like there will be people left on the outside looking in.

Not likely nowadays. Someone will transfer

Well no fan of the media, but in this case, I think they are correct. If all 3 go through spring ball, no matter who is named the starter, somebody will transfer out by June. Just go through the scenarios.

1) Max wins the job, he is my leader in the club house with a 1 shot lead, do Myles and TJ sit behind him, no (could see both go).
2) TJ wins the job, does Myles and Max sit behind him, no (could see both go)
3) Myles wins the job, and out of Max and TJ, whoever is not 2nd on depth chart, will transfer.

Not correct read. They’re suggesting all 3 won’t make it to spring ball to compete, one likely to transfer before spring game.

I think it’ll be a competition between Myles & Max with Nuss redshirting and TJ transferring

It may benefit a qb to start learning his new system in spring if there’s little chance he will see the field here. It’s just the way it is.

Ok, I did not read it that carefully, so there is talk that somebody already feels they are behind going into spring. The only way I see that is the Coaches have already broke down each of the 3 guys games, graded everything and basically said starting in spring, here is the where the depth chart is. I think that is being fair to all 3. Now, I would still say to each of them, who starts vs UCLA in September of 2021 still has to be earned but maybe 1 decided they want to go to a QB room with a clear path to the field. Not surprising, that is the reality with the QB position.

Let’s hope Myles Brennan recovers and is ready to compete in the spring.

I honestly don't think Brennan will ever be able to play again and Max has earned his spot, so I am guessing Finley will transfer and Brennan will be like a graduate assistant QB coach third string backup and Nuess rises to second team.

Two of these were true freshmen. Normally they would have sat and watched for at least one or two. Years before seeing the field. Give them time to sort it out. And this year should show what happens with QB injuries
