No, the moron who worked the afternoon shift said "Barney Rubble, what an actor".

Men of a Certain Age was a good show too. Not sure why that one didn't make it very long.

I stand corrected.
But if those were made for TV, Ebsen has a strong argument.

Some great answers to this topic!!!
If the requirement is at least 2 great characters, I'd throw in these three ladies:
Alison Janney (West Wing and Mom....and an Oscar for the Tonya Harding movie) has never to my knowledge given a bad performance.
Julia Louis Dreyfuss (Seinfeld, New Christine and VEEP)
Betty White (Mary Tyler Moore, Golden Girls, etc.)

Cosby had a nice run: I Spy, Cosby Show , Fat Albert
Carroll O'Connor: All in The Family, Bunkers Place, In the Heat of the Night.

Lucille Ball played a character based on herself in four different series. All successful except the last one. The producers wouldn't let 78 year old Lucy do her trademark physical comedy for fear she would get hurt.

No love for Mary Tyler Moore or Gavin McCloud?

In person Michael Landon let his fans get to him and he was an arrogant person.
John Wayne was a fairly cool guy for as big of a star as he was.
Lorne Greene was a great guy
Ronald Reagan was a funny guy and loved riding horses.
My grandfather did a lot of work on TV sets especially working with horses. He even worked with a few horses for Ronald Reagan. My grandfather called him the California Cowboy.
Got to meet a few tv stars back in the 70’s and Reagan, when he was the Governor of California.

James Garner(Rockford and Maverick) are a couple more.
He acted for 54 years.

Bob Newhart never won an Emmy for either one of his two long-running comedy series. He finally won an Emmy for his guest appearance on the Big Bang Theory.

Awesome stuff. I was young when this show was on. The first time I saw "Larry" act in another show or movie, and be a normal (not dumb) character, I was shocked. Kind of like watching Sons of Anarchy all those years to end up finding out Jax Teller was really a nerdy Brit.

He was also Hendley in The Great Escape and was in a ton of other movies. Also won 2 Purple Hearts in Korea.

If we are only looking at 2 TV shows, Tim Allen has to be in the conversation.

Wrong. Joseph Moscolo, who played Stephano Dimera is easily the best star ever to have taken to the black screen. I'm still eagerly awaiting his return.
