The D line coach won’t matter if the DC is still around.

Ensminger was nothing before Brady and had better success after learning from Brady. He still has no idea how to call a run game. Everything is up the middle. Zero imagination.
Lineham is awful
Cregg can’t recruit
Bush is nothing without Aranda
Faulk rotates his backs to much and won’t use the hot hand
Robinson was better at coaching than evaluating talent at RB

You left out the old dude wide receiver coach and the first “passing game coordinator”.

“He has made 1 good “on the field” hire since being at LSU and that’s Brady.
Canada fired after 1 year
Peleni should be fired after 1 year
Blahblah....

—This tells me O is not willing to stick with a coach who isn’t getting the job done. Coaching is about “fit”, just like players. O has been merciless firing underperforming coaches.

All signs in O’s favor

Reading between the lines of several sites sounds like most of the staff is gone. Faulk, Joseph, Raymond are the only ones confirmed safe. Ensminger stays on staff but reassigned. Bo Davis in to coach DL.

Bo's issue with the NCAA was an improper recruiting contact during a dead period, at least that was what bama stated. Tho it would seem a 2 yr show cause would be a bit strong just for that. During his playing days, Bo was one of the, if not the, strongest players on the team. Man was bull in the weight room. Will any specific staff changes effect any specific remaining recruits?

I like it, Faulk already pulls his weight recruiting, Mickey has done a hell of a job with wrs and Raymond has his corners locking things down for the most part. the rest of the staff should go

It certainly make sense to hire a guy who got fired by Alabama and hit with a “show cause” penalty while LSU is in the middle of an NCAA investigation.

If only we had a coach on staff who recruits, plays no role in coordinating either side of the ball and could focus working with the DL. Oh well. We can all dream I suppose

Lets don't turn people into Lepers. His show clause suspension is over, and you think he might have been a fall guy at Alabama to prevent show clauses from other more important position coaches, Pruitt, Kirby, etc.

He tried to hide it when the NCAA came knocking. He didn’t cooperate with the investigation and the NCAA doesn’t like it when you do that

Didn’t he leave “the bad guys” after recruiting violations? With the title IX stuff and the ncaa sniffing around, is this hire going to be approved?

Yea I think the bigger deal in the whole Davis issue was the lying to investigators. Alabama didn’t get hit hard for it. Davis tried to cover for the booster

Anyway. Hopefully he learned. He is a good coach and recruiter

It happened 5 years ago and he’s 3 years removed from his show cause. He made a mistake. He’s not banned for life

It's funny that not too long ago Mickey was identified as the "weakest link" on the staff and tRant wanted him canned.

except that is how you have to operate with them. ask ole miss how giving up info to the NCAA works, they still got fricked. ask Kansas and UNC about saying find evidence.

Vol, it sounds like we know the exit door is open and people are going through it

but I assume the new incoming coaches are still wait and see?

or do we have some solid coaches already in the barn?

I get it people love to shite on E but the offense was still good for most of the season with his starting QB going down in game 3 and 2 true freshman playing the other 7 games throwing the ball to mainly freshman receivers and a terrible o line.

I believe he is retiring and I think LSU can get someone better but he was still a good OC at LSU. Him allowing Joe Brady to implement the offense and control as much as he did, which Ensminger did not have to do at all, brought him from good to great but without him he is just good.

I agree, Look at LSU's offensive stats. You go with Brennan for 3 games, he is hurt, you put in a gameplan tor TJ, he plays 5 games, has some good games and bad games, but you gave him an opportunity and you have 5 starts to grade him on before Spring ball. Max gets 2 starts and you put together a game plan for him, and he doesn't have Marshall, Racey, top 2 returning WR's that did not opt out and Gilbert.

I would be good with creating the same structure as the E/Brady structure. Keep E as veteran coach and bring in young Passing Game Coordinator that understands the modern spread passing game like the back of his hand. Maybe Callaway who is already on staff is that guy, has been an OC at G5 school, is the son of a Coach, etc.
