He made some huge plays on offense and a great play to down a punt at the one and he maintains his composure. Doesn’t really celebrate much, just gets back to business. It’s nice to see...

Boutte is my favorite also. Gf really isn’t a fan though.

You must have missed when he celebrated 2 yards early during gump game and dropped the ball... could have easily been recovered and no TD

It was and by his teammate, Kirklin.

The kid is a great player and that was a true freshman mistake. I would think he'd learn from that.

He'll be a solid WR going forward (he already is) provided he doesn't get injured.

Same. He’s only gonna get better through experience as the 1 this year and then a full offseason to get bigger... if #1 in 2021 looks like #1 did last year looook out

He’s a 1st round talent and will thrive as WR1 next year

Been saying this since we signed him. Watch the jump he takes from this year go next, will be similar to the jump chase made

Not saying his stats will mirror chase’s but they will double for sure. I could see him go for 70 catches and 1100 yards next year

I got to watch him several times in high school. He moves so effortless. He never looked like he was running fast, yet he was blowing by everyone on the field.

This is the most exciting thing about Boutte. As good as Chase was last year, it’s easy to forget that it took him a year to really grow into his game.

Freshman year stats:

Ja’Marr Chase
13 games
Season: 23 rec, 313 yards, 3 TD
Per game: 1.77 rec, 24.1 yards, 0.23 TD

Kayshon Boutte
9 games
Season: 31 rec, 427 yards, 2 TD
Per game: 3.44 rec, 47.4 yards, 0.22 TD

And Boutte had 3 different QBs, 2 of whom are true freshmen. If he develops like Chase did from year 1-2, Boutte will be a force to be reckoned with.

Y’all want to give him a hard time, but must have forgotten that the honey badger did the same thing back in the day. If I’m not mistaken, it was during a punt return against Georgia.

I bet no one holds that against him now.

Does intentionally fumbling at the 1 count as celebrating?

30 years from now, Boutte could be putting on his gold jacket and stepping up to give his acceptance speech, and y’all are still gonna be stuck on “member that time he dropped the ball at the goal line and it didn’t matter at all...”

We were undefeated and had at least some reason to be cocky

When Boutte fumbled the ball we were down 21-0 to Alabama at home and 3-4 going into the game.

At least get into the end zone before you celebrate.

To be fair, Chase's freshman season was spent in the BB years ("Before Brady").

Still, he was a 5 star prospect for a reason. He was overshadowed a bit early because of the presence of Marshall and (to a lesser extent) Gilbert. Once those guys quit, Boutte has become the clear #1 guy.

He’s been a bright spot at a position that was supposed to be the strength of the offense(before the opt outs),

You could see him progress throughout the season where now the the QB's are not looking for him. Not to put pressure on him, but based upon what he has shown as a true FR, I think he'll make that jump to J. Jefferson/J. Chase SO yr similar-type production next year.
