I watched a pretty shitty but sometimes entertaining movie on Netflix the other day with Bautista and Bruce Willis in it call Marauders

Early in the film Bautista walks up to Chris Meloni at the bar and goes “Barkeep give me a bush mills black”

And then straight out of a Bar Rescue episode, the bartender takes out a bottle of Bushmills Black makes sense to show it to the camera front facing for a solid 2 seconds of screen time and then poured the drink and I believe he said “here’s you bushmills black” as he handed it to him (not sure)

Probably not the most blatant but it was so poorly executed and was such a specific name that it stuck out like a sore thumb

Just pick any Michael Bay movie

The entirety of the Transformers movies are product placements but they managed to get worse the last few movies.

Captain America and Black Widow driving to New Jersey in a brand new Chevy Silverado with pretty good trim.

The Accountant was pretty bad about this too

There’s like 10 minutes of that film that are just wide shots of his new F-150

Adam Sandler is even worse.

And Jack and Jill is entirely about making a Dunkin Donuts commercial:

They're also doing this in SEAL Team on CBS. Every season, the leader of the team is driving a tricked out and brand-new as hell GMC Sierra when they're home from deployment or a mission from abroad.

Sure I get that SEAL Team Six and Delta Force are badass and the cream of the crop amongst the special forces units of the US military but it's still a government salary that would not qualify as a side gig for an OT baller and there's no way he makes that much that can justify buying a new truck that often.

I don't mind things like the refrigerator in Ghostbusters or Marty McFly wanting a Pepsi (though it was odd he wanted the caffeine free version) b/c it's realistic for characters to have those things.

What I don't like it when it's so overtly blatant it becomes unrealistic like in Batman vs Superman when Bruce Wayne jumps into his Jeep Renegade, drives to his office building while Zod and Superman are fighting overhead, and damn near every vehicle he passes is some kind of FCA vehicle be it a Jeep, Dodge, or Chrysler. Making things worse, that footage was repurposed into a Jeep ad. Also, for some reason his Jeep, which I assume is his personal car for Metropolis, is a Trailhawk edition. Where the hell was he planning on offroading with it?

The actor holding the XBox is Bob Stephenson who is in lots of commercials so it's funny his movie role was to be part of a commercial.

Before Disney plus movies there is a warning in the top left that says “This film contains product that placement”.

Does anybody know why that is ? And or do other movies say this ?

Ricky Bobby completely gets away with it since that’s like a third of what NASCAR is all about. That’s one of the few movies that improved with product placement (as well as Wayne’s World).

At least it’s not as bad as what The Walking Dead did. They were driving around brand spanking new Hyundais during an apocalypse that started 2 years before those particular models came out.
