Your 89 year old mother asks you to be tested for Covid before visiting

What do you do?
You have no symptoms, no one in your family has any symptoms, you haven't been around anyone that has Covid (as far as you know).

Do you risk getting the virus by going to a clinic to be tested or just tell her the truth of the situation and visit anyway?

Your mom, your choice.

Me, I'd respect whatever my mom wants.

Explain to her that unless you go nowhere near another human until you get to her house a test doesn’t mean shite

If anyone asked me to be tested before visiting their house I would either be tested or not go.

If it's your mother then you get tested.

I get your point, but not entirely true. Especially considering what we are confirming about asymptomatic transmission.

Call ahead to the clinic and see if there is a wait if you're that concerned. Seriously, this is being an adult 101.

I got tested before visiting my mother. Why even put up a fight? You never get enough time with your mother

(I did explain how going to get tested was probably more dangerous than not going but whatever )

Are you really asking this? And the whole "do I risk getting it by going get tested" is such bullshite. More than likely you will have to wait in your vehicle, they will call you when they are ready for you, you put on a mask, go in and they do the test.

You lie and say you got tested and you're fine. If she asks to see the test results, tell her she's shite out of luck.

Get tested or don't go.

I think most of us respect the boundaries that ordinary citizens and businesses set when dealing with this shite, even if we think it's retarded. It's when the government starts sticking its nose into our private lives that we get pissed off.

They aren't having people just sit in a waiting room. They tell you to sit in your car and then give you a call when it's time to go back.

The smart play is call her back and ask if she's offering Thanksgiving curbside to go service.
