I'll come to the OP defense. In 2016 I needed a car quick, and I leased a RAV4, because they were super cheap with almost no money down. Family drove that for a few months so I could take time to find what I wanted and when prices went down to more reasonable amounts.
In the end, my 16 year old drove that leased Rav4 for 33 of the 36 months. Other than a hit and run from a drunk driver that was not their fault, had barely a scratch on it when we turned it in. I know full and well, it was a HUGE risk but in my case, it worked out fine. It's more about who your kid is and how much fear you have instilled into them by when they start driving.
But yea....insurance for teenagers is ridiculous

This is the main reason my child did not get her license until 18.
Paying insurance would have taking half her monthly take home pay with her 20 hrs a week while in school

Buying a 16 year old a new car is crazy. That things gonna get dented up
My kids' cars got fricked up on the reg (generally) but mainly on their High School parking lots.

Doesn't work that way. The insurance company will charge him as if she is the primary for the most valuable car on the policy because she is covered for all vehicles in the household now. The only way he can bypass that is to prove she doesn't live in the household. That being said Geico is solid insurance and that's really a decent price for a 16 year old.
I have a sports car, so I "excluded" my teenager as a driver. This kept the rate in check. BUT, he literally can't drive the vehicle. He has never driven it to this day.

Go to the online insurance websites and try entering you as the primary driver for the Toyota and your daughter as primary for the truck.

$350 mt doesn’t seem bad. You must not live in Louisiana

There is a reason. My 16 year totaled a used Sonata I bought for her and GEICO wants their $11K claim back at $4K a year!

You don’t let a 16 year old drive a new car. First, it’s idiotic to begin with.
As a former 16 year old, I can tell you this is correct.

1. Buy a clunker and put liability on it for her.
2. Put new car insurance in your name and list everyone in household as driver.
3. Profit.

I paid $1200 for 6 months on my 16 year old's car insurance 2 months ago. It was a Demo Accord I was able to get a good deal on. $350 definitely sounds high

I have no clue how my parents did it, but they had 5 kids aged 15 thru 25 on their insurance.
A big arse bank account is how they did it :)

State farm grade reduction is helpful. If the child has good grades (high school or college,I think even community or junior college) send them a copy of the grades for the discount.
Shiiiiiit State Farm is high as giraffe pussy, too. They're a shell of their former self. Ed Rust retired and the company hasn't been the same since.

Put yourself as the primary driver and her as a secondary driver.

This, 100%.
Any agent who does not suggest this (when it's possible) is not doing their job correctly.

Thank Morris Bart and the lawyer on the 18 wheeler. And, while you’re at it be a mindless dipshit like most voters and continue to vote for plaintiff lawyers to represent you in the legislature.

Try having 2 boys in Ca. It’s back breaking. Although when the older one went to LSU we were able to get a discount for him being out of state. The younger one just turned 19 , so I changed from Geico to Liberty Mutual and I’m saving $1200 annually

What garbage insurance policy do you have?

Also, I hope all trial lawyers on the planet get Ebola and shite themselves to death. I cannot get over the fact that most of this money is going to pay for those shite bags
Most of it is profit for the insurance companies. You know, the very same ones charging you $350 a month to add your kid to a policy.
