I think Finley looks pretty good for a true freshman.

He made some nice throws and showed decent pocket awareness (for example, on the last TD).

The defense still seems porous to me.

Agreed. If he can continue to improve I think he will be a good one

Baw has the best arm I’ve seen since Jamarcus

He really showed potential, showed poise, and led us to a road win.
He’s definitely a keeper.

The announcers were saying he fled the pocket prematurely on the last TD, but it was quite the opposite. He sprinted right to reset the pocket. It was really solid pocket awareness.

Agree but he needs to work on being more mobile

he needs to learn to put some touch on the ball but has all the physical tools as a freshman.

we'll see if we can develop a QB for the first time in... ever?

He's got to learn the pocket better. Missed many opportunities to scramble

But plays very well for a true fresh. Nothing he does wrong can't be fixed.

He looks fine for a freshman. But I’ll continue to ask what are we doing with Max if we don’t give him opportunities here and there?

Yes

You never want to start a true freshman.
Bad shite will happen and it’s not his fault.
They are not ready.

He will be a very good QB with a high upside.

meh, tried to scramble many times but is slow AF

i wish we had mixed in Max a lil bit.. even if it was just some run packages for him. he is much more mobile and would be a great change of pace IMO

And he had an uneven throwing day but very excited for his future. He has only started three games so great start

He has a ton of upside. Lots of velocity on the ball and can get it into tight windows. Does a fantastic job of keeping eyes upfield, especially for a freshman. He falls forward when he runs. He does seem to roll out on occasion for the sake of rolling out, but that can be fixed. Getting these live reps without having to burn a year of eligibility is huge.

If you add touch he can be one of the all-time LSU, possibly SEC, great passers. He has accuracy in the short game, he just needs to take a little zip off the ball when he isn't threading the needle. A great example was that throw to Gilbert. Just a tad too much on the ball.

That being said, his inability to a be real running threat will limit the offense.
