Fine? He looks fricking outstanding for a TRUE freshman.

But I’ll continue to ask what are we doing with Max if we don’t give him opportunities here and there?

He’s getting opportunities in practice, I’d assume. I know it may be hard for you and your ilk to wrap your racist brains around, but it is possible that black QBs legitimately beat out white ones.

Game on the line and TJ takes them 67 yards on 10 plays for a game winning touchdown. It’s not nothing.

Will be a great battle with Myles next season. He looks very talented and will get great experience.

He can get better at some of those things. I hate to break it to you, but Joe wasn’t super fast. But he was DECISIVE. When he ran, he hit it hard and got upfield immediately. That split second hitting the hole at full speed is the difference between you getting past a flat-footed LB and him getting that step toward you and an angle to a tackle for a short gain.

Finely doesn’t have to get much faster. He needs to work on moving in the pocket, which he isn’t awful at already. He moved into pressure at times today, but he also kept a few plays alive to make throws downfield.

The big thing for him will be working on foot quickness. If he can make that decision and make a decisive cut to start moving upfield immediately, he can turn these runs back to the line or for short gains into 5 yard + runs. Just that much running ability makes a big difference in how the defense gameplans vs a QB.

Calm down. This rest of this season is about player development. It makes sense to get your current backup some on-field experience to know what you have. I don’t see Johnson beating out Finley, but he does bring a different running element to the position. It make sense on multiple levels to give him a series or two a game.

The good thing is, the things he needs improvement in can be learned. He won’t ever be a speed demon, but he can improve enough to make his running and scrambling in the pocket more effective.

Does it? Which series today would you have put our inferior QB in for?

He has a bright future based solely on his pocket awareness alone.

He played a nice game for the most part but definitely room to improve. I still hope we can get a good look at Max Johnson so we can see with our own eyes who the better player is.

A drive in the first half with the lead. If we score on the first drive of the 2nd half and then hold them 3 and out the next series, that would have been ideal. Mix it up by adding the QB running threat in a scripted set of plays.

I really like Finley and I do think he should be the starter. However, he is far from perfect and he does not bring the dimension of the QB run. Because of that, if makes sense to give the defense a different look, especially if you have them on their heels.

It’s not like this is some exotic and novel concept. Damn. And it sure as frick doesn’t have shite to do with race.

Don’t be that guy and bring race into football. A lot of fans want to see Johnson just like a lot of fans want Finley to only play. Race has nothing to do with it. They are just 2 opposite style QB. TJ is a big pocket passer like Jamarcus was and Max can do more with his feet. It’s becoming way too easy for someone to just throw the race card out there in our country today.

Max is a much better runner. Would be nice to see some change. We aren't playing for a title, we need both to have more experience.

I thought the same about Brandon Harris. They were both raped by Auburn.

Finley is a less mobile Jamies Winston. Change my mind.
