There were a lot of you in January who thought Pelini would be a good hire and were excited about a guy who was great 13 years ago, but hasn’t had any success since then. My question to you is what made you think this was a good idea?

I was a little skeptical but looked forward to an attacking defense. I had no idea it would’ve been such a disaster LSU lost a ton of talent but still has enough not to lose to the teams they have

Who was out there at the time of the hire? He has had an aggressive defense In the past and he has been known to bring and impress a fire within his defensive teams.

Honestly your question implies you had a better choice which is always cool when you have the perspective of time.

Usually that is called a Monday morning quarterback.

Liked his defenses when he was here. Coach O wanted him. I'm usually optimistic. Didn't have the benefit of hindsight to criticize.

I assumed he would be able to run a functioning defense.

I thought he was a good defensive coach that struggled doubling as a head coach. I figured when all he had to do was focus on defense instead of the other duties that come with being a head coach that he would be a good DC with the amount of talent we have on the roster. Eh, not so much.

He is a Tiger, is qualified, and wanted to come here knowing that the cupboard was bare. I trusted him for the rebuild and still do.

Don’t think he is doing a good job right now, but LSU also lost a ton and he did not have a full offseason to implement his defense.... that being said, he’s had enough time now to at least run some basic schemes and does not seem to be able to do that....

He wasn’t even great 13 years ago. I said from the beginning that he would be a terrible hire. He’s worse than what I thought.

Based on what personnel?

Is it possible that you overestimated what we have infinitely more than Orgeron overestimated Pelini?

I was CONTENT with the hire. I gave CEO the benefit of the doubt, and assumed Bo could modify his defense. It is not like he has not been coaching, and even brought one of his teams to a title game. Also, he was sourced by a pretty great coach in Tressell.

I won’t lie. I thought it was a bad hire but never in my worst nightmare did I think it would be THIS BAD.

“I hope LSU loses their bowl game.” —LusciousLou, 2018.

Yeah whatever you have to say is invalid.

I thought stevens and brooks would be his linebackers, and shelvin and not 20 lbs over weight farrell and logan would be his dts. Also thought kary would allow guys like flott and ward to shine on 4th throwing options for qbs as they gained more experience
