I agree Polis is much more moderate than progressive, and actually don’t hate the guy and his leadership, but I fear this huge surge is going to push him further to the left.

The state didn’t have a single day of 1,000+ cases until mid October, and yesterday broke through 4,300.

Craziness.

Yesterday I got my kids seasonal rentals. I won’t be doing that again. They got decent stuff, but it’s several years old. I could have easily piece together a much better used set. $179 each plus 15% off.

Where'd you rent from? I just tried to book an appt for Epic Junior trade, jeez. I guess we will be getting the kids stuff through Snobahn. They are high but we get the member discount and it is probably new.

I am starting to wonder if we are really going to have a season. All the Denver metro schools are going back to online which at the very least kills my weekday plans as everyone will be up the hill on good days if no one has school.

We did Happy Sport down in Littleton. Solid prices with $50 off because we got them before Oct 31. I ended up with brand new everything (QST 92s) and wife ended up with 1 year olds that are good too.

Christys in Cherry Creek. They have great daily rental stuff for adults but I left disappointed... mainly in myself for not buying online. Whatever, the kids were excited. I was also able to walk in which helps.

When we picked up the Epic School Kids pass, the guy at the store said Vail Corp was not ordering any new inventory for the year until they go through everything else. IDK if that’s true but they had some really good prices on adult gear. Their website is pure crap and online shopping isn’t available.

I brought my skis to Ski and Boot Lab for some much needed R&R. The owner was super nice. Hopefully they come out like new.

Here we go. From my Airbnb host minutes ago regarding our long 3 day weekend stay Thurs-Sun in December:
quote:

URGENT!
We have been recently notified by the Summit County Department of Health in their most recent Health Order, that all rentals in Summit County, including this rental, are only allowed to host groups that have no more than two households/ 2 addresses. This is a serious order with a $5000 fine and possible jail time if not followed.

This is through Nov 30 but could be extended and impact your reservation. We should hear from the county soon about December.

If you are from more than two household addresses, and you choose to keep your reservation and see if this health order extends out impacting your dates, then please know you are subject to our cancellation policy. Up to 5 days before arrival or closer to the arrival date there is no refund.

You can wait and see or cancel now. You can message me back here around the end of this month before you arrive and we should know by then if the county will be extending the order or canceling it.

We are required to collect all names, relationships, and addresses of everyone in your group coming. Please send that NOW if you are keeping the reservation until we hear the order status for your booked month. After you provide names and no more than 2 addresses, we will email you how your self-check-in will work.

Hoping to make this work for everyone this winter, giving you an awesome vacation while we follow County Orders.

PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW THIS IMPACTS YOUR RESERVATION AND WHETHER I SHOULD LOOK FOR YOUR CANCELATION OR SEND ARRIVAL INFO

Wife did Larson’s last year and I thought it was closer to $130 for the season. I ride and own all my gear. I’m late to the game on the junior trade this year as always. I’m gonna wait for everything to open before I rent the family’s ski gear.

I expect full blown frickery all season. I have several buddies who who didn’t get passes at all. I would be in that boat if not for my kids.

I think like Nevada and casinos, the governor of Colorado knows the resorts are a major part of the state economy and will do what it takes not to shut them down like last year. They shut down last year in late March so the season was already over for the most part. I think the resorts have too much power and influence.

I can't think of a safer activity(when it comes to a virus) than skiing... you're already spread out, social distanced, and all...

A lot of people are dumb and completely buy into the narrative that you are only safe if home alone

The issue skiiing has that it spread early in resorts last spring but that had vastly more to do with bars and lodges than skiing. You pack a ton of people into poorly ventilated bars and you have prime covid spread conditions.

Probably doing Homewood and Heavenly.

Just wondering how. I’ll ask again...
Is an Epic Day Pass a lift ticket?

Or must I buy both?

Yes, an epic day pass is a day lift ticket. There’s nothing else an epic day pass could be for.

I'm supposed to hit Breck for a week after Thanksgiving and Crested Butte for a week after Christmas. I'm starting to worry that's not going to happen..
