I just had the rental company I booked my condo thru in breck email me a copy of rental agreement. Looks like I have to cancel within 30 days of my trip for a full refund even if its covid related. That gives me until the 25th of this month to make a decision. Really don't know what I should do. Would suck pretty bad if stuff gets shut down and I lose out on almost 4k. Thinking about cancelling and waiting til last min to book a condo. I'll pay more but that seems like the smart play.

If you aren’t particular on the quality of the place or location, I think booking last minute is worth the risk.

No one wants to be left holding the bag. I get the owners perspective but they have to have some risk too. A month...

Yeah im not picky about any of that but Mrs. Jkyle is a diff story. Its 4 of us and we def need something bigger than a standard hotel room. I'd hate to be sweating dumbass covid restrictions for 30 days though. So sick of this chicken shite virus. I mean tons of ppl die from smoking every day but they've never banned cigarettes. This whole thing is a shite show.

That’s a tough spot. Maybe check for some options with a more lenient cancellation policy to have in your back pocket.

Just checked reservation availability for Keystone and Breck for this Friday maybe I should have looked at the kids’ school like everyone else did. Vail will be open but the reservations for that day aren’t open yet. Winter Park and Copper need to open soon.

Polis doesn't seem that interested in shutting skiing down right now...

Denver 7 reporting that the state is about to add a category to the dial so we don’t have to go back to Red.

Looks like more Ikon mountains are going to reservations, I see that Brighton and Crystal are now requiring them.

Eta: It seems many of the locations still don’t require reservations but a few do, notably the Aspen resorts, JH, and A Basin. I have Ikon mainly for Winter Park and Copper. Copper has parking restrictions which you have to give them a credit card number. A-Basin sold their season passes with “No Reservations required” so the writing was on the wall for them.

Epic queue: I’m 25k for this weeks release which includes opening day at Vail and Beaver Creek.

ETA: Was able to get Vail on Friday and next Wednesday at Breck. I have all my other trips reserved. Hopefully the buddy tickets work out. Hopefully Ikon doesn’t throw a curve.

Yes, an epic day pass is a day lift ticket. There’s nothing else an epic day pass could be for.
It seems you’re right.

We have two days at Homewood and two at Heavenly. Never been to Tahoe!!

I hit up Vail yesterday for opening day. It was a lot more fun than I expected. 95% of the people were really good skiers. Everyone was going fast but in control so the yellow jackets weren’t hassling anyone.

Very few people wore face covering except for a half arse attempt as they passed the lift operators. Towards the end of the day there was even less compliance. The on mountain experience will be very limited this year so be prepared. There are very few tables outside and no indoor seating. The outdoor apres scene in the Village was happening through.

You still thinking skiing will be a go come Christmas time ? I'm not worried about restaurants or amenities. I'm just hoping my flights, condo, and ski access are good to go. I've kinda kicked around the idea of jackson hole or park city as a back up plan just in case. We wanna go somewhere and ski. Not doing gifts this year. This trip will serve as our Christmas.

In CO, I think the lifts will be the last thing to close. Fingers crossed.

You’re not a true Texan in Colorado until you end up stuck along the side of i-70. I am disappointed in you.
