This dumb bitch clearly hasn’t died of covid. Therefore either it isn’t a threat whatsoever.

Y'all elect quite a bit of Dems in Louisiana.

It's probably a similar situation to EBRP. It's majority white but not by a lot and I'm sure at least 25% of white people vote Dem. I'm sure it's probably higher than that.

The city of Baton Rouge will likely lose $40 million from LSU football alone, but this economy shut down thingie is nonsense because, well, Malinda said so.

Seems like a lot of people started working remotely due to all the shutdowns and needed printers, scanners, fax machines, and other office supplies for their new home offices. Guess her business wasn't negatively impacted by the shutdowns.

No question this was an idiotic statement out of touch with other business owners but I wouldnt say that the legislators are making a big salary.

Legislators' annual salary is $16,800 per year. They do get a per diem for days in session, which can add $9-$13.5k. They also receives an un-vouchered expense allowance of $6k, plus up to $1.5k per month in other vouchered expenses. However those expenses are usually actually needed to run their legislative offices.

Also, legislators elected after January 1, 1997, are ineligible for State Employee Retirement System benefits.

Being a legislator isn’t really a full time job. That’s why so many of them are lawyers with their own practices because it gives them the flexibility to take off work for the session while still providing income. Plus, it typically costs a lot more than $22k/year to win state legislature races, so you have to already have your own money or money behind you to even get the job.
