there has to be a reason they put themselves and their families through all of this shite.

and it isn't "for the people".

State legislators don’t “get theirs” to the degree of US legislators, but they definitely “get theirs”.

She says she and her husband live conservative lies. Why would you be a Democrat then? The greatest political paradox ever...

Well this lady is on the board of everything in bogalusa. She’s a “real estate agent”. Power. It all leads to power, connections, and influence.

The smartest ones look at the overall/longterm value of making those connections and swaying and influencing decision making on public policy. No one gets wealthy from a politician's salary, particularly state or local.

They use their positions to get money under the table, set up government jobs for their friends and family, grab land deals with knowledge of goverNment infrastructure Plans before the public knows, lots of perks like football tickets and scholarships, kickbacks from government contractors and licensing boards, free meals from lobbyists, lots of “business” shifted to their full time employment.

Their above board money is minuscule, but they can make a lot on the side.

I'd say there is a pretty good chance that at least 90% of elected officials are in the bottom half of general intelligence. This pretty much confirms that.

Sorry Malinda, every time a business owner closes the doors of his business at the end of a month after being forced to stay home for 9 weeks by our government, I'm sure they will find comfort in the fact that your business wasn't affected.
Thanks for helping to reframe all of these terrible business owner's mindsets!

Louisianans play conservative but too many of them still like that liberal populism ala Huey Long. Hence why John Belle Edturd is our Governor. Couldn't have achieved that without supposed "Republicans" voting for him along with the folks who love socialism.
