Here now for 9 days. First time. Tips so far:

- Elk Ave. Prime (steak)
- Rent side-by-side ATV for Taylor Park/Mirror Lake
- Ryce (Asian food ??)

Went for Mardi Gras this year, mostly ate at the VRBO, but these were really good:

If Slogar's is open, go eat there. It might be closed for the season until Thanksgiving. Great family style. Love the fried chicken, cream corn, mashed potatoes and biscuits.

Also like Marchitelli's Gourmet Noodle for Italian food.

Soupcon is great, very high end French food.

Wooden Nickel on Elk Avenue for steaks (lower end).

Love Secret Stash for pizza.

Granted, I have not been to any of these places in 5 years and I am not sure if they have survived COVID, but all great places years ago.

Montanya's has great rum, rum drinks and ramen.

Gas Cafe's breakfast sandwiches and burgers will crush a hangover.

get drinks at dogwood and montanya (the rum distillery)--get the maharaja at montanya

elk prime
wooden nickel

secret stash
brick oven (pizza's not quite as good as ss but their beer list is great)

lil's for sushi--sit at the counter

third bowl for ice cream

usually you can find a good band playing in the basement of the public house but that may not be happening with covid
