The rumors of human feces on the streets of San Francisco are grossly exaggerated. We were in Portland and Astoria earlier this week, or I guess it was last week. Portland has a much more severe case of public human excrement.
Friend,
In 30+ years of living in poor, backwards NWLA, from the white trash of Oil City to the worst ghettos of Shreveport I've never seen human excrement on or near a street or public right of way.

The most homeless people I have ever seen was on a drive through the Tenderloin.

I worked by the tenderloin before the 'rona and london breed banished me to my home until "a vaccine". One of the last strolls before work from home, a cop pulled up beside me and said I was on the wrong block, the oxy was 2 blocks over......

Tulane,
I think you need a reservation for Muir Woods.... Henry Cowell redwoods state park is open in Santa Cruz.

Just like the populace that elected JBE, Destroya, and SWB get their rewards.

Nah, when things get bad they'll leave and like locusts, destroy another place.

So all the conservatives leaving CA to places like AZ, TX, and TN are destroying those places?

Friends,
So many memoirs brought forth from the deepest recess of my mind in this thread. I too stayed at the Fairmont atop Nob Hill upon my first visit to San Francisco in the early 90's. "Finest city I ever visited" I said to myself. Second in love only to my beloved City that Care Forgot.
On each return, of which there have been many, I began to notice a degradation in the cultural, spiritual and physical aspect of the once fine western metropolis. At the same time a vast increase in the financial obligation cost to visit the city.
Upon my most recent return to the city on the way to Yosemite NP I said to myself, "What an overpriced shithole this once fine city has become" and now I am not sure I shall ever return.
Yours,
Crow Pie

Stopped off I10 while heading back to BR from Lake Chuck. Rolled under the overpass to take a leak and grab a drink from my cooler in the back. Smelled something when I opened the door and realized what it was. Crawled back in the truck, turned around, and drove on down to Grosse Tete to take care of my bidness.
