She can ask her Son to do things - which is what she did at Cana. The Virgin Mary knows she can do nothing without God. So when we ask her to protect us or pray for us - we know she is doing so through God.

The Book of Luke spells it out pretty clearly

Honestly where in the Bible does it say this?

Or you can just ask God directly

good grief. what part of the Bible do you read that says Mary can do anything whatsoever to help people? Pray to Christ or pray to God Almighty. Mary can't do anything.

Do you not ask your family and friends to pray for you when you are facing some tribulation? Why should we not beseech Mary to do the same? In 2nd Corinthians 1:11, Paul says the prayers of the many strengthens and blesses a faith community.

As a Jew, I can Tell you asking a jewish mother for help from her son is the best way to get something done.

Why not do both?

It’s like when someone asks someone else to pray for them - that’s all.

And science proves itself wrong on a daily basis. Science is nothing more than man's feeble attempts at trying to explain God's creations. Science boils down to a consensus of educated fallible humans (who were educated by other fallible humans) But hey you know better...

I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.
Genesis 3:15

Actually it predicts Jesus as the one who will crush the serpents head

1Timothy 2:5-6
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind. The Man Jesus Christ. Who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time.

Mary didn’t hang on a cross to pay for anyone’s sins.

We don't worship her, we bless and honor her. We basically pray with Mary

I'm a Christian but man's interpretation of the Bible is the reason we have these types of discussions. No where in the Bible does it say to pray to anyone but God and his son Jesus. Matter of fact it clearly states "For i (Jesus) am the way, the truth and the light. No one gets to the father but through me"

I don't recall it saying anything about Mary having this role. I respect that Mary was the vessel used to bring God in the form of man to this earth to die for our sins, but that is as far as it goes for me.

Jesus is the only one that can save us. That’s who I’m praying to.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gave specific instructions about whom we should pray to: “Our Father which art in heaven.” (Matt. 6:5–13.)

Yes, that's what I believe also. It's not praying to Mary, it's praying with Mary. Pray to the Trinity
