What do you make of such a terrible candidate like Biden, with a terrible agenda, who did no campaigning, who ran one of the worst campaigns of all time?

How is it even possible?

Do people dislike Trump that much? Is it the just CONSTANT barrage from a dishonest and biased media that has just beat people down? Has Covid just destroyed his approval that much?

IF its true, it is totally perplexing.

If Biden wins voting is basically useless now in the country.

Nobody actually gives a shite about Biden. This election is solely about Trump.

Much like 2016, when the Democrats were in such a bad spot, that a non-politician dude who was basically a celebrity was able to beat them, this would speak more poorly on Trump and the Republican side if they can't beat out a guy like Biden.

One of the downsides of living in Portland is that I no longer have a read on what normal people think.

It’s just a given out here that OMB and masks are very very good and Subarus are AMAZING.

4 years ago I was flying and driving all over the upper Midwest every day and I had a real sense of the pulse of our country.

I don't think it beats people down so much as it sways the middle. With a fair-handed press this race would be over.

Go back and look at the Mississippi governor’s race a few cycles ago. Democrat on ballot was a truck driver with no experience. But just because he had a D behind his name he got millions of votes- just because.

The election is a referendum on Trump.

The candidates are Trump or not Trump.

This is the primary reason Biden hides so much.

If it's Biden or the Democrats vs Trump well that's not good for Biden.

And the Biden name is palatable enough for most of these dummies.

All of this is because of Coronavirus. If not for Coronavirus, Trump wins 350 electoral votes.

Is what it is at this point. It will be close.

Yes, people hate Trump that much. They’re tired of his shite. I’ve voted either Republican or Libertarian since I was able to, but I’m also tired of it, and I’m not even a Trump hater.

He’s a polarizing figure. I’m surprised Republicans aren’t more tired of him than they are. It’s not just a question of “being right”... how you say things matters. Do you want to be right, or do you want to win? He can’t get his point across without being offensive. It was entertaining at first.

I don’t think a lot of posters here have ever lived outside of the Deep South. I can’t think of another public figure in the US who, outside of his supporters, is more hated than Trump is. I’m not saying it’s true, but I can’t think of anyone.

It’s because he’s running against a horrible candidate! Trump hasn’t done anything good for this country in 4 years. He has made it more divisive. Foreign policy is horrible, economic policy is horrible, environmental policies are horrible. He’s horrible and sick!

I mean the polls are probably relatively correct. It will be a close race.

Is it really that hard to see why Trump is not liked by a lot of people? Especially those who vote just based off personality alone?

Just the surface level view of Trump puts him at a disadvantage. Loud mouth New Yorker. Weird fake tan. Hyper sensitive to any criticism. Always seems to be playing the victim. Questionable morals.

It worked in 2016 because it was new and refreshing to some. I think the Trump persona has worn on a lot of people. Then you add covid into the mix, makes it a tight race.

People have always disliked Trump. He was disliked greatly and won with razor thin margins in 3 states — WI, MI, PA, traditional blue states, mostly due to his unique appeal and Clinton’16 dropping the ball.

The media holds Trump accountable for EVERYTHING. I wish they were this critical of all candidates at all time, frankly.

Finally - his COVID response has been terrible. He said the virus would disappear in April, and he was sickened by it in October. That’s all we need to say on that.

The polls are correct. Trump needed to grow his base, expand his supporters and build a bigger coalition. He has done none of that while alienating moderates who switched from Obama to Trump.

IMO, he’s toast. Nothing can save him at this point.
