This is overkill but SuddenLink doesn’t give two craps about Lake Charles

I filed a FCC complaint. I heard from Altice HQ in NYC. They were supposed to follow up with a restoration date but never heard back.

It has been 38 days with no internet or cable service. We continue to be billed.

There is nobody to speak to. No other cable providers. No options.

I don’t know what we do about getting another ISP here. ATT only covers little blips of the city. Barely anything.

I think we are screwed. You rarely see any SuddenLink trucks. They aren’t responsive. Could be December I’m guessing and maybe we will get service.

They abandoned customer service over 20 years ago when government monopoly contracts were given out all over the state.

Easily the biggest crooks in the ISP industry.

Yup

they are offering me a sweet internet/tv package and a lifetime price

I will be going with the more expensive option simply because of how bad Suddenlink service is. They are going to boost my 15 mpbs download speed to 150 at the new house

I'm getting gig internet for $70 a month though, not even close in comparable speeds.

My online account continues to receive bills. No estimate to restore service. People have to work. They want to shut down work for Covid and now we have no internet from these bunch of jabronis.

I have a buddy that lives in Dallas working for a long haul fiber optic contractor. He is in the LC area working recovery right now for SuddenLink. He claims to be working hard but all I see posted are pictures of fishing and general frickoffery.

About what I expect from these bunch of...

I’m out of insults for SuddenLink. I don’t even know what else to say at this point

Well please tell me you aren't paying the bills then. They have no leverage to make you pay if you are not getting services.

I can only imagine how bad it is in LC. I'm in Rapides where even here people are still without internet. I had to put a transfer of service request shortly after the hurricane and it still has not been done.

Horrible company and definitely a monopoly here.

I don't blame you. Luckily, I have AT&T fiber at my house. They allowed me to suspend my service for up to 12 months without having to pay a reconnection fee when I'm ready to start it up again. It will include some costs, as my equipment was fricked up from the hurricane, but at least I'm not being billed. A lot of people in my neighborhood have Suddenlink, and they are extremely pissed. Saturday was the first day since the storm a Suddenlink truck made it into our neighborhood. We have nearly 200 houses, and the majority have Suddenlink.

I don't know what to tell you. I hear reports that some people have working Suddenlink service near the Prien Lake Park area, but some neighborhoods don't.

Like you, they can't get in touch with a knowledgeable human being as to why the neighborhood next to them has service, but they don't.

I get it, there's a lot to fix. But damn, have an estimate. Say "Yeah, we know there's a break on your street, someone is scheduled to be out there next thursday." They don't seem to have a plan.

ATT can't get to me until October 23rd. I haven't cancelled Suddenlink yet because I need internet ASAP and I don't care who gets here first but I too filed an FCC complaint and they came out and just told me nothing they can do until the infrastructure is repaired.

Today is the first day I have seen Suddenlink workers all across the city much like lineman were. I saw some on Oak Park, Prien Lake, Ryan, McNeese and a ton of them downtown just today. The CEO said they would be at 50% restored by the end of this week then the rest will be on by November 15th at the latest. We will see because as of the update last night they only had 17K with internet restored as well as a few essential customers like the hospitals.

They will send it to collections if you don't pay. They said it is their system and it can't be changed. We just have to pay and they will credit everyone after restoration at a later date. I saw a line of about 50 people outside their office today with envelopes in hand. No doubt getting a refund. People have been out of work due to COVID then get with a major hurricane. They need their $50 right now more than Suddenlink does and can't wait.

I too filed the FCC complaint, got a call the next day with no follow up.

However, contractors for suddenlink have been on my street for the past few days; yesterday afternoon the guys on my street told me I’m good to go. Still no service and customer service said we our still out.

They don’t know what the frick they’re doing.

Why not cancel and get it again when services are available?

Good luck getting anyone out here in a timely fashion if you do that. You will just be prolonging not having it even more.
