it's still much more transmissible than the flu.

Isn't the survival rate for older people still very high?

I've only known one person personally to get this and it was my mom who's in her 50s and it put her in the ICU. So yeah it's worse than the flu folks
I’ve known many people to get it
Some didn’t even know and some felt as if they had a cold
And my grandpa died

It's like 95-96% for people above 70 I believe.

This has been a great marker for people I know that are fricking retarded. Excellent work, Mr. President.

quote:Yeah, because we live in a world where you can use hard data and back it up with anecdotal experience in a conversation with somebody. Imagine that, huh?
Are you really using anecdotal evidence and then demanding hard data from the person you are debating?
quote:Link me some data that proves it's worse than the flu in that regard.
I use real world data that shows it's clearly a high risk situation for an older person and a low risk situation for a healthy 35 year old.

quote:From a physical standpoint, this is not true. More or less transmissible requires context. For instance, kids rarely transmit it because of viral load. But adults do, not because the viral load is more per se, but because there's a longer period of incubation prior to showing symptoms. It makes it more likely to be transferred because of social reasons, not because the virus itself is easily transferrable.
it's still much more transmissible than the flu.

My prediction... Trump will say he is fine and still want to do the next debate. Headlines will read "Donald Trump has threatened to murder Joe Biden at next debate"

It's still a pretty good survival rate for them. It's not odds I'd take on my own life, but all in all not bad.

It was just Tuesday night he mocked Biden for adhering to mask guidance, and his entire family took their masks off as soon as they were seated.

Joe Rogan had a disease specialist on the other day and she was saying the number one thing that makes people most vulnerable is a worn down immune system.
I can’t imagine being on the schedule those guys are on. Being in 2 to 3 states a day and getting 2 to 4 hours of sleep at night. At 74 nonetheless. I am 40 and that would wipe my arse out.

If anything, I'm sick of some of you people who are still hanging on to February/March 2019 type ignorance of this thing when we are in October with months of studies, evidence, and real life practical experience all around us to know a LOT more about the severity of this thing. Yet, a percentage of our nation wants to keep distorting the facts, embellishing the severity, and they want everything still shut down. And my point in this debate is that if we're going to take that approach to this right now, then why the frick haven't we been the same way during flu season every year? Because the risk is there too. Every year. But now, all of a sudden everybody run around with masks on. Even though it's a "like for like" comparison with the flu.
