The only thing that makes it “worse” than the flu is that it’s novel where the flu has created some immunity along with vaccines. But when an old and unhealthy person gets the flu, it’s just as deadly as covid. That’s what the data shows.

I'm pretty sure we're on the same page, but I'm not downplaying getting sick from the flu or from Covid 19. It's not fun. But it's not the all time motherfricking freakout run and hide type experience that people make it out to be. That's my point.
And if it is, then we need to shut down all life every year at flu season because the flu is just as serious and bad (if not worse).

I had a good friend, 35 and healthy, get it and it took him close to death. I had 65 year old employee with high BP get it and it was a cake walk. If I based all of my views on my own anecdotes, then I'd conclude it is terrible for young, healthy people and not bad for older people. But I don't use anecdotal evidence. I use real world data that shows it's clearly a high risk situation for an older person and a low risk situation for a healthy 35 year old.
