Notes from the Coach O press conference - Stingley back tomorrow, Logan out this week
Posted on 9/28/20 at 12:37 pm

Currently taking place. Updating as more comes in (LINK)
- We have to coach better. Have to execute better.
- Need to make better adjustments.
- Says "loss is on me", takes full responsibility for the way the team looked.
- We need to make better decisions in the pocket. Had open receivers, didn't hit them.
- WRs need to fix drops.
- OL didn't block well, due to both scheme and technique.
- Derek will be back. Waiting for medical exams to clear. Expects to be back as early as tomorrow.
- Glen Logan not available this week, will be back for Missouri.
- Jay Ward was out for practice for 2 weeks, coaches were uncertain he would even be able to play against MSU.
- Gameplan was to play man, adjustments could have been made other than just switching to zone.
- Thought Brennan threw the deep ball very well.
- Said Flott had an excellent camp, did good and bad things during the game.
- Said Ward will get better now that he's getting healthier.
- Orgeron turned his "Twitter machine off", said he's blocking out the noise.
- Says Myles is right, they were dropping backers and sitting in passing lanes. Said we have to make better adjustments, spread them out.
- Said Myles is too hesitant, needs better presence and needs to make better decisions.
- Need to get running game going more. Happy with all 3 backs, says none have really separated themselves yet.
- Said the loss "puts a fire in me", and it's going to bring some fire and energy to the team that wasn't there against MSU.

Will miss first 3 games. Suspended more than likely

Yikes! What he do? Pot?

Lots of excuses
. Let's hope that practice gets them turned around for Vandy.

I hope he said it in this order and I hope he means it. If so, I have faith it will be addressed. Either by the current staff or by who O brings in next year

This sounds like pure stubborn arrogance and refusal to admit zone would’ve been the correct adjustment.

I didn’t read the whole post on my first response. I swear it’s like the staff reads the rant and says what we want to hear.

Can you list the excuses? All seems like brutal honesty to me. Coaches sucked players sucked final score sucked

Next two. Wasn’t Logan out this game?

This doesn’t look like a team. It looks like a bunch of individual guys masquerading as a team. They need to get on the same page and a leader needs to emerge

similar to what he just said, "I'd like to run the ball more, especially on first down".
YEah no shite. Just run the damn ball more if that's what you want to do. Don't tell us that's what you want to do after the fact. 28 run plays to 56 pass plays with only 3 of those passes to RB's. That's a stupid offensive philosophy when you told us that our RB group were awesome just last week. We are supposed to be the more talented team. If they have 6 in the box, and we have 6 blockers, RUN THE GOD DAMN BALL!
We had so many 2nd and 10's on saturday.

Sounds like the coaches were completely unprepared.
Not good, but s/o to Ed for taking responsibility

He was surprised the defense gave up so many yards, especially on 3rd downs b/c they were so good in camp.
Maybe they were playing against a crappy offense in camp.

For players like Logan, how about cut them loose and maybe prevent similar things from happening again.
I wouldn't bring him back.

Exactly
Leach + Costello to Ensminger + Brennan. That's what you saw.

Exactly, see Chris Pederson/Washington reference in PFF thread. I watched those games so I know they are correct...
