I didn’t read the whole post on my first response. I swear it’s like the staff reads the rant and says what we want to hear.
Many people in the college football zeitgeist don't like tigerdroppings because it's a site full of people from one of the poorest states and tends to be conservative. But it is home to some of the most knowledgeable fans and fanbases in the sport. Also, without question, it's the best place for breaking LSU news.

Something I never thought he would lose. It showed no body really cared in the offseason. Great job Tigers

Do you go to other boards? Go to r/cfb and report back. It's full of stat addicts who have never played the game and don't understand when it's appropriate to use stats and when it's appropriate to use your eyes.
People on this board know football. Not all of them, but many of the regular posters.

Amazing how over confident and comfortable a national championship will make a coach. Didn't think O would do this but success is a cruel teacher.
Hopefully this is his wakeup call- what follows next is arrogance. We have seen this already in a coach. Don't want to go there again

Unreal. He is literally auditioning for the draft this season and can’t keep it together.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Lester.
But seriously, although you have a mountain of complete morons on here (especially after a loss or close win), there are also some very smart football people on here. You do have to weed through a lot of the opposite though to get that sometimes.

Holy frick, glad Orgeron watched the game. Now be a head coach and make a decision to give the other QBs an opportunity. No reason not to give Johnson & Finley some series against Vanderbilt.

Orgeron was constructing the greatest team in CFB history & 97% of this board couldn’t see it, they wanted him out. As recent as the offseason prior to 2019.
Well, 100% of outsiders didn't see it coming, so I guess comparatively speaking, it's still above average.
I will say that even though LSU got blanked 29-0 to Bama two years ago, the LSU fans were way higher on Burrow than most people out there. I remember people calling LSU fans idiots for thinking Burrow was going to be really good in his senior year (though nobody knew he would accomplish what he did).

But they saw an upward trajectory, which if you want to break it down, was even more obvious than what I mentioned.
I am not sure where you are getting your numbers, but I saw MANY posters that saw that LSU was on an upward trajectory after the 2017 season. I don't think anyone saw us definitely winning it all last season. But many, myself included, were very open to the idea that LSU would be very good and at least make a playoff appearance.
Maybe I am just good at weeding out the people who don't know what they're looking at and focusing on those who want to actually talk ball, but they are here.
And if you want to compare it to the rest of the CFB world, many people, specifically those on r/cfb, had 2018 LSU winning half of the their games and 2019 LSU as a 9-3, even 8-4 team in some places.
Perhaps it's all relative.
ETA - Also go outside of this board and spew takes about LSU being anything other than a 5-6 win team this abbreviated season. You'll get people calling you a homer. Did I think LSU was going to lose to Miss St? No, but I also knew that it all hinged on Brennan (which stats be damned, it did). But if you now even suggest that LSU will beat anyone other than Vandy, Mizzou, Ole Miss, Arky, and MAYBE South Carolina, you get called a homer looking through purple and gold glasses. When the reality is that LSU may lose 4 more games this year, and they also have the potential to go 9-1. We just don't know yet.

Basically my point.
I told people here that LSU's defense was better than Clemson's and we would see it down the stretch. Most people lambasted me, but many agreed.
I said that same thing in r/cfb and on the discord server and I was threatened with a boot for "trolling"
See how that one turned out.

I’ve read this board for a long time & there is absolutely no way I can agree with you. They are fans. Short for ‘fanatics’. They do not know how to harness their emotion, & it spills over. Are there a select few? Sure Orgeron was constructing the greatest team in CFB history & 97% of this board couldn’t see it, they wanted him out. As recent as the offseason prior to 2019. This board is entertaining, but ridiculous. There are not smart football people on here.
I may be wrong, but weren't you and another guy (he passed last year from Cancer, RIP) constantly hammering "fans" that said we needed to change the offensive scheme?
I know the guy that passed, said it wasn't scheme...just needed better players

But our defense was light years ahead of where it was this same time last year?

Only if they could have guaranteed Brady/someone of his ilk coming in, changing the offense and turning Burrow into Football Jesus. Realistically, what is our record in 19 if neither of those things happen?
I say 9-3 at best. I don’t think we beat Texas, at least one of AU/UF are toss ups, and we definitely don’t beat Alabama. In other words, the same record as the previous two years.

Maybe it is something that can become better over a long period of time with experience but certainly not something that can just be fixed

How many yards after catch? 350?
Posted on 9/28/20 at 3:34 pm to Captain Crown
What does that have to do with anything that transpired Saturday? There’s a big difference between talk and play. O would be the first to tell you that too

So we might as well throw out the speech he gave and the Bama game as well
